Many of these have been training very forwardly. Tonalist & Wicked Strong both had strong works this week. Not training too well, Honor Code
5/22 Carpe Diem & Madefromlucky worked 5F in 59.01, fastest of 20, Materiality worked 5F in 1:00.04 in company with Stanford, 4/20. Frosted worked 5F in 1:01.45. Materiality's work was the most visually impressive, and he was pulling away from Stanford on the gallop out.
well, the pace is usually slow enough that they're going to be within striking distance anyway. sometimes natural closers even find themselves on the lead.
Madefromlucky is a bomb worth considering also. Pletcher has been pointing him to the Belmont since withdrawing him from derby consideration, and he clearly likes the track
I've heard he's been working tremendously at Big Sandy. I can't count him out yet. It's possible the nonsense he had to endure shipping over for the derby is why he ran so poorly. Now that's he's been here and training here, he could very well be dangerous. Can't say I'm a big fan of his running style for the Belmont though. He seems to have that 1 acceleration and that's all. Usually doesn't bode well for the Belmont.
Well, I still gotta see the works leading up to the race, but yes, as of now I like Materiality
bout time. i needed a big day
and the biggest price won it
It'a about time!
