humphrey, i read somewhere sherriffs said if they would of let the track breathe he wouldnt have scratched her. i have not a clue what that means. but considering what you stated, makes more sense she got scratched.
actually personal ensign beat the boys at saratoga in the Whitney Handicap. and bob46, Z has been training over a wet but fast main track at hollywood. they will not scratch her in the classic.
No one wanted to race her for 2nd at the Apple Blossom. Surely the east coast fillies who excel on dirt would have stepped up to take her on. But no one wanted to get beat, that includes RA.
her 08 campaign basically made it a mute point for her to race against mares. she has been run conservatively, no one can deny that, but sherriffs has done a marvelous job of keeping her focused. she might retire with (2) classics, a distaff win, and (2) apple blossoms. wherever she ends up in the history books. it will still be impressive.
