When I finally got my sister and her husband to go to the track, they LOVED it. We need better marketing. Turn it over to young people who understand how to reach other young people. Turn the horses & jockeys into superstars through advertising. And find a way to keep them racing for more than one season. I'm in my fifties and have loved racing for my whole life. I breaks my heart to fall in love with horses and then have them reitired or whisked off to Japan for breeding.
I picked him out early. Loved his sire & just really believed in this guy. Also those who said Curlin was mediocre, he's got a classic winner in his 1st year How could they have given up on him that early.
I have been a DeShawn fan for quite a few years. "Discovered" him by watching night time races on TVG. If he's aboard, the odds go down. Just a great workng jockey who rides under radar and gets way less attention than he deserves.
