I've been waiting for your pictures, Brian, as I noticed the other day you posted here you were off to see Rachel. I'm so happy you were able to get in on one of the visitation days. Isn't it awesome? My husband and I met her at the July visitation and I felt the same emotions you describe in your article. I walked around in a happy fog for days afterwards. Your joy definitely shines through in the pictures. Aren't the Stonestreet staff the best? Incredibly hospitable people. I had to giggle at the picture of you "talking" to Rachel...all the pictures my hubby took of me with Rachel, my head was turned into her ear because I was talking to her. Hey, I may never get another chance to tell her in person just how amazing she is! Thanks again for sharing the "baby bump" photos.
Thank goodness they scratched her because the race stayed on the turf. I've added her to my virtual stable so I can keep up with her. What in the world is going on here?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this smells to high heaven. I don't care for the trainer to begin with but what's up with this particular horse that the trainer/owner feel the need to ruin her?
Way to do it, Gem! You looked amazing yesterday.
RIP Kimmyv.
Disappointed in Calvin, however, it seems to be a running theme lately with him, Mike Smith and Tyler Baze.
Sheesh, my spelling is horrible! I meant to say "he is deserving of all the accolades he gets." Sorry!
I absolutely adore Awesome Gem and was screaming my head off for him as he came down the stretch! Thanks Brian for writing this article in his honor - he deserving of the all the accolades he gets. Way to go, Gem!
Hi Angela - I really enjoyed your blog! I was there for the 9:00 a.m. slot on Tuesday. I started crying as soon as we pulled up and I saw her. Our group was incredibly quiet; very respectful and subdued. When we all had to leave there were more tears (even the men!). Rachel is absolutely beautiful! The Stonestreet staff were amazing and so welcoming; I can't thank them enough. Won't we be reflecting about this day for the rest of our lives?
Angie - I will be visiting Rachel on Tuesday, too! What time are you scheduled for? I was so thankful I got my reply in as fast as I did; apparently they filled all the slots in a couple of hours. Are you as excited as I am? I can hardly stand the wait.
