I LOVE Little Mike, but I think the distance is a furlong too much for him. I'll still be rooting him on.
could have, would have, should have- the fact is he didn't, and anyone can make up hypothetical outcomes all day long using whatever "logic" they choose. the race is over.
too many people turn into horse racing lemmings this time of year- jumping on/off the flavour of the weekend. while i have nothig against rags, he is overhyped and people are simply willing him to win because of their futures' bets. the "best" of the crop has not yet emerged-it is simply too soon to tell. but i do not believe it will be rags.
why would you whip a horse that's boxed in due to pilot error? what is he supposed to do- leap the rail and finish on the infield?
i agree the ride was bad, but that, like the BC Juvie, is horse racing. rags is not as strong as the image surrounding him.
unimpressed- imo the worst race he's run. flat, flat, flat
Never should that race have been allowed to be rerun- esp on same day. The purse should have been equally split and shared by all runners, including Fox Hunt. TWO more injured- 1 fatally on the rerun? SHAME ON YOU WHO MADE THIS DECISION- you are a blight on the industry.
Of course he was carried wide on the first turn- he broke from the 12 hole. What else would you expect? That he made up the ground and won by 3 lengths was even more impressive. Maker also gets points for the equipment changes- the figure 8 gave Dominguez more control, and removing the blinkers appeared to settle him in.
Ran impressively yesterday & Casse is long overdue for a big win, as is Oxley, 2 great horsemen. May be the real deal.
When you're a full brother to Royal Delta, too many expectations are placed too soon. He needs more time to mature than is available between now and May.
