Congratulations Kayla for getting it right. You have made yoiur family a priority in the midst of also fulfilling your obligations to your profession. And, I'd like to add, you have made your name based on your job professionalism- withot having to resort to Playboy photo shoots, modelling, retring, unretiring and other wise keeping your image in front of the public. You have demonstrated that your focus is already on quality vs. quantit, and you have my complete respect for standing up for your rights, equality, morals and beliefs. Congratulations on being such a great role model, ride safe at Delmar and continue to demonstrate that this type of prejudice will not be tolerated.
She- and female riders at every racetrack in the country- hav always had their separate jock's room. Would you really expect that the men and women share the same quarters while showering, dressing and whatever else they might wish to do without the opposite sex being present? And that is not considered sitting in the back of the bus; it is a rational expectation.
I LOVE Little Mike, but I think the distance is a furlong too much for him. I'll still be rooting him on.
could have, would have, should have- the fact is he didn't, and anyone can make up hypothetical outcomes all day long using whatever "logic" they choose. the race is over.
too many people turn into horse racing lemmings this time of year- jumping on/off the flavour of the weekend. while i have nothig against rags, he is overhyped and people are simply willing him to win because of their futures' bets. the "best" of the crop has not yet emerged-it is simply too soon to tell. but i do not believe it will be rags.
why would you whip a horse that's boxed in due to pilot error? what is he supposed to do- leap the rail and finish on the infield?
i agree the ride was bad, but that, like the BC Juvie, is horse racing. rags is not as strong as the image surrounding him.
unimpressed- imo the worst race he's run. flat, flat, flat
Never should that race have been allowed to be rerun- esp on same day. The purse should have been equally split and shared by all runners, including Fox Hunt. TWO more injured- 1 fatally on the rerun? SHAME ON YOU WHO MADE THIS DECISION- you are a blight on the industry.
