888 wins the gritty duel for the Delta Downs Jackpot. He likely won't be the 2 yr old champ, but he is my favorite active dirt colt.
Finally have time to watch the races. This one looks very interesting.
I like the western invaders. I'll go Ocho Ocho Ocho,Wake Up Nick &Prime Engine.
Thank you so much for compiling this for me. Between work/Family issues I have had a hard time even watching the big races. As much as I do love the 2 yr old season, I've had to put the races on the back burner for a bit. I did go back and watch Exodus's first race . I liked what I saw, placement aside. He seems like he can show improvement. Whale Rock has not posted a work in over 2 months. I am hoping it's a maturity issue, rather than a health issue - and we'll see him hit the track even if it is not in time for the derby. Courtier is on a two race winning streak, personally I hope they keep him in at least one more allowance race before trying to get him back in graded company.
It is amazing to see the impact of the BC purses though.
Good call guys!
I really liked the look of this colt when researching earlier. Unfortunately I haven't had as much time to keep up with the 2 yr old crop this year as I have in the past. I was not aware this one had ever started yet. I'll have to look into his first race and try to catch the next one.
Private zone is interesting. I still don't know that he is a horse that I can really get excited about however. I did not know he got injured last year, I will have to take that into consideration.
I hate to say it, but this is coming up as a really weak field for the CM. Especially considering the past three years. While there may not have been 'Superstars' in some people's book, there were plenty of solid, if not quality animals to get excited about. This year Vyjack and IMLD are really the only two stand out's here. IMLD is coming off a beak, and a really poor performance- Vyjack has the potential to run right over the top of these horses, but hasn't been all that consistent. It's hard to get warm fuzzies (or itchy money burning fingers) about either. Some might consider HC to b a stand out .. but personally I didn't like him before he got hurt (Much more of a hype horse, than actual talent in my opinion,) and I especially don't like him off of such a long layoff should he even enter.
I am sad to se her go. I was really hoping she'd stay in the states.
Congrats! Glad to see it.
It was the best race of the day in my opinion. He ran super.
I am disappointed. While yes, I did want Shared Belief to win .. I would have been just fine had CC or even Bayern won cleanly. I don't know that there was much the Jockey could have done, the fault lies with the horse, but man that was a pretty obvious foul. I wanted a good race. I can't be happy with this one.
