I think he was impressive, but I really everybody is going way overboard about their praise of yesterdays performance. I you want to compare apples with apples, look at El Padrino's allowance win at the same distance on the same track and tell me that's not as impressive if not more. By the way, EP came home his final 2 and a half furlongs in 29 4/5 in that race while also in hand, while beating a top quality horse that was running a good race. Your eyes can be deceived and the fact tgat discreet dancer was backing up made this performance look way more impressive than it was. I guess I'm saying lets slow down on handing him the derby.
Union Rags effort yesterday was impressive but it was no more impressive than El Padrino's allowance win. First of all, Discreet Dancer was the only graded stakes caliber horse in that field and he was backing up bevause he wants nothing to do with two turns.
