As much as many disbelieve it the Derby/Preakness winner should be considered the top three year old racing or not.

Not to be rude but calling the human being dumb is kinda useless considering the fact that you are in 5th grade. You can't even spell recently right. For a fact he is the top 3 year old in the country... look at the top 250, he is way past Bodemeister.

Tim, the problem with HRN is few here are smarter than a 5th Grader. I think we should nominate LTHR to that show, might make the little kiddie gain some confidence in his adolescent stages.

^ actually he didn't. Paynter is not as good as Bodemeister, never raced a GOOD start with Bode and IHA, got held back in the Florida, lost by a nose in the Breeders cup ( if you watch the replay about maybe 3 feet away and he passes Hansen)...

Tim, I know people who have met Union Rags in person. You have not, you watch him on the internet and TV. They say he is a huge well educated horse. If he is dumb how did he win the Belmont? Explain.

Namer, some people don't know how to aprciate a horse. When you really look at it, they did what they could at the time. Now, I favor him becasue I found him a year ago, but he is still an awesome horse. And he may be a spectatular sire. (I know, some of my spelling is off lol)

I agree travel but, I would like the horse if he had a better trainer, he has been caught putting his horse on drugs(?). He is also sending him to Japan. The right stable owner was not there to get him for more than 10 million, did you know Bodemeister was sold to the US for 13 million? Atleast that is what I heard.

@cocoa you should know that I'm not talking about that educated if you have studied the horse you should know that they can learn up to I believe more than 20 commands? A regualr person looks at a horse on the INTERNET and says that horse looks freakin retarded. Then there is trainers/riders that know a horse by looks, there are also many, many stories on how if you look into the eyes you can tell if the horse is happy/stressed. Say if my friends knew Micheal Matz... I have been listening to interveiws, he says the horse is great in some way you may not know. he has not been passed in the strech once. He knows how to make it through traffic at points but give him time, let me see you at the age of 2 takin from your home to be slapped with a whip, and run at 30 mile speeds. I think I am not a kiddie and not a "he". @Tim I know a lot about that horse. I would like some people to know that, and "LMFAO"? Please.

If you all read the article "Just who is Union Rags" it said he know knows how to win, with a good jockey he could easily become a 4y/o champion.

He had 4 races in 2012.. Why did he not have a chance?. Part of being a champion is navigating your way through traffic and finding a way. He is a good horse but not the best.

You either win or lose thats it. I would not get in the locked closet that is the difference. He might be like that dumb kid you always tricked in grade 5.

top 3 year old in the country???? On what grounds? He is off for the year.. There will be G1 winners soon in the summers derbys for 3 year olds.. and Big Brown was just as wide if not more and won. Oh, I forgot, this horse didn't win. Look he is a very nice horse, but there are plenty of horses who have overcome much worse. Big Brown ran farther than most in the Derby and won going away. Disposablepleasure, just watch her race. Look at Afleet Alex. This horse was wide, he is a horse who is typically mid pack, meaning he will almost always face that or traffic. Quit with the excuses.

there's no point obsessing about 2 year olds. they are growing at such different rates, and are so different in "real" age, that you cannot predict anything about the quality of the horse as a 3 or 4 year old. union rags and hansen are nice horses, but way to soon to call them great horses. my guess is that a few more horses who are late-maturers will come forward in the next few months and UR and Hansen may not even be the favourites in May.
