If you were a fan of Candy ride, ya gotta love Candy Boy. Will love the Derby distance, and flying at the end.
Pray tell,No trouble for"Vicar, what 3 year old running this year is even close to a'SEATTLE SLEW"?.
Don't come any tougher then Tiznow, who raced 16 times, and hit the board 15. One of the best to come out of the gate.
I would underestimate Candy Boy's distance and pedigree issue'sCandy Ride,Ride The Rails, and Cryptoclearnce, blood lines will allow him to negotiate the Derby distance. He has a Hall of Famer rider,Gary Stevens, who is the master at getting a horse to relax. If he remains healthy and sound, i believe he will be a legitimate contender for the Roses in May.
Cairo Prince has distance limitations.? Why.? Sire,Pioneer of The Nile, and grandsire, ran distances from a mile to a mile and one half. Throw in the Belmont Stakes, at a mile and one half, and you have your peigee profile. If the Prince remains healthy and sound, he could be a serious Derby contender. Nice colt.
Wow. Boy does this article today bring back some wonderful memories of my first visit to hte horse farms of Kentucky. If possible, all thorough bred racing fans, should try to make at least one visit in theeir lifetime. An experience you will never forget.
He worked six furlongs in 112 & change.? This is a nice colt. Hope they keep healthy and sound. If he can carry that speed, a distance of ground, he sure will be a Derby contender.
Real nice horse with great breeding. Have to love the APIndy, blood. It is a long time between now and Derby day, and many things can and will happen. Keep him fresha nd sound, and lightly raced, and hopefully, we will see a special horse in 2014.
It would not surprise me, if, Strong Mandate,Honor Code, and Shared Belief, are not racing sound in May 2014. I will wait for the late bloomers, whose trainers and owners, took their time to develop a promising decently bred two year old.
Better yet. Do not race them at all until they are three, and a little more developed. Bucked shins, and knee problems all statrt when the two year old is forced to race at a such a young age. We still have some very good trainers who feel the way I do, that another year for the horse is well worth the time. I was an owner and lived thru the experience. Unfortunately, some never recover from the two year old racing season.
