Sky Lantern and Zenyatta aren't from the same distaff line. Sky Lantern is Lowe's Female Family 5-h while Zenyatta is Family 4-r. However Zenyatta's 4th dam Mrs. Peterkin is the 2nd dam of Shareef Dancer, damsire of Sky Dancer.
Tough to compare a 5 year old human child to a 2 YO horse. They aren't even the same species, nor do they have the same rate of development. However, if one examine's Bern Identity's pedigree, it shows an abundance of speed. Additionally, he has the conformation of a sprinter/miler. If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck, chances are....,

Travel_vic, are you sure you read the right article? I didn't say a thing about genetics having anything to do with why the offspring of some sires love the track and others hate it. I simply reported on which likes like the surface at Del Mar and which ones don't.
