@TimSmith by your logic then Creative Cause should be a better horse than Bode since he had already beaten him in a stakes race at SA before, but clearly the KD & Preakness showed thats not the case... Horses progress over time and i think that Paynter is the best of the 3. Bode is a wonderful horse but i think he has distance limitations as for Union Rags lets just say the rail wont be opening up for him anytime soon

By simply looking at pedigree and BSF alone you can clearly see that Paynter is one of the few runners in this field that can even try to compete with IHA...

I see an AP Indy theme going on here, i think the connections should give Storm Cat or Sadler's Wells sires a try, there is a big possibility her offspring can be monsters on turf and dirt with Street Cry and Kris S in her blood.
