According to Chris Daley of Maroon PR who handles PR/Media for Sagamore Farm, “Tiger Walk will likely be entered in the $1,000,000 G1 Wood Memorial Stakes on April 7th at Aqueduct”, to make one last attempt to earn a trip to Churchill Downs and run in the Kentucky Derby.
Considering I'm all-in with Discreet Dancer being my top Derby contender (a/o 02/03/12), I have to like NECK 'N NECK. He was 2nd best to "DD" last out and his speed figs continue to move in the right direction.
This facility which is located northeast of Birmingham, AL opened for business on March 3, 1987 featuring live thoroughbred horse racing and concluded it's first meet on Halloween 1987. Bankruptcy followed and away went the live racing dates and Alabama had an $85 million White Elephant on their hands. Over the past decade or so, the facility serves as a greyhound track and horse racing simulcast center.
Visited this track on Aug. 24, 2003 which happened to be the 74th running of the Canadian Derby!
According to a very reliable source, Baffert says he's OFF the Derby Trail (due to a recent injury).
