Interesting horse moving forward. Got off to a terrible start and as likin sparks points out, he really had to weave through traffic coming around the turn. Was also the first race off a layoff. One to watch.
Definitely see your angle. If he runs back to his last effort, he's got a shot, but I worry about the outside post coming out of the TB chute, and more importantly, the presence of other early speed. Be sure that Jackwagon will go to the lead like he did in his last and Osceola Prince is sure to do the same. Could set up for a closer like Lethal Combination, Game Drive, or Prizes Included. I'm personally using 1-4-5-10 in my late Pick 4 with a possible win/place play on Game Drive on the drop in class.
Wide open race as the Sam F. Davis often is. I like Midnite Poppa to get a perfect trip off the pace and take a big step forward for the victory. I'm putting $20 win/place on him.
The 1/30/13 opener at Tampa may be one of the worst races I have ever seen. Six horses in the Maiden Claiming $8k-7k race have combined for 29 starts with only one top 3 finish among them. That one top 3 finish was by #3 Peaceful Boundary who was 3rd, 14 1/4 lengths back in her debut back in August at Suffolk. Of the 29 races, only five times has any of the horses been within single digit lengths, four of those by the #1, Fran's Image, who is 0 for 12 with no top 3 finishes. I'm placing the over/under on the 7 furlong winner time at 1:29. Someone has to win...I guess.
Big time overlay at 8-1 (and actually got bet down from 10-1 in the last jump). Cut back in distance, 2nd over the track, Rosario...I was able to clean up from it. Hope you did as well!
Looked very impressive. Never in doubt. Two bombs behind her created a $1 tri worth $700. Rare to see that with a 1-1 on top.
Take the time to make the trip- especially for a big day like the one that's on tap June 1st. I swung by there on a Saturday night in 2008 and had a blast.
