Amazing? Unless you were there to see the work, a time is just a time and nothing more or less. All it shows is that the horse was at a given track at a given date and was fit enough to train.
He loses and people crack jokes about him. He wins and people crack jokes about him. I'm a fan of the horse almost entirely because others aren't.
All in fun, I assume, but it's still silly to compare horses over a 100 year span.
Very very very good. I am a big supporter of the Phipps stable, this guy debuted in a really good maiden race with fellow stablemate and stakes horse Ironicus. He's "won" all three starts since then, though DQ'd in a maiden race
Fits right in with Affirmed and Slew's Belmonts. No performance can even be compared to, much less likened to, Secretariat's Belmont.
Had the 4 last time, will probably take him again here. Cy Seven would not surprise me at all, I'd love to see him win it for Van Berg. He's been working and running like a completely different horse lately.
Bayern is the 125lb highweight for the upcoming Lone Star Park Handicap, to be run on Monday. Also nominated are Tapiture, Carve, Salutos Amigos, and Cat Burglar among others. This will be fun.
Keen Pauline, probably not. Ironicus was much the best and would have won with any somewhat competent rider in the irons. His ride was beautiful, but he had to have the horse to do it on.
I'm a bit confused now, could you please tell me, did Castellano run the winning race, or Ironicus? I couldn't tell. Great ride by Castellano, but there is no denying the fact that he was on the right horse.
