So THAT'S why he was longer odds than I Spent It, whom he beat convincingly, when the futures opened. Somebody knew.
I'll give La Verdad another chance. Her last two were not la verdad, they were La Ver"dud"s.
He's back! 3f is :36.80, first breeze since getting some rest at the farm because he ran a poor 5th in the Sanford after hitting his head in the paddock and freaking out. He should be more mature and I'm excited to see what he can do. His daddy was a sprinter to 8.5 f horse and he's similarly bred to Fifty, in that his sire's sire was Unbridled's Song and his 3rd dam is Alysbelle. Alysbelle is also in the pedigree of W V Jetsetter, who, like Silverhill, appears to want distance and maturity.
She's nominated to the Vosburgh. That's a bit ambitious.
Untapable does not deserve to be ranked above Iotapa.
Not ANOTHER inside draw- post 2 of 10 for the G3 Dogwood. She is 2 for 2 over the track and looks like the best in the field.
I don't think The Grey Gatsby was the best in the race, considering the ride Australia got (IMO he should be ditched for that ride, in America he certainly would be), but it was a horse race and we have no clue what would've happened with a better ride on Australia. He probably would have won, but the ride on The Grey Gatsby was so well-timed you wonder if that was all he had to give. Late movers don't win by much, but they run into what they get. But in conclusion, Australia was likely best.
I admire and respect Australia as much as anyone, but I'm glad The Grey Gatsby won.
I think she may be running in the Dogwood next Saturday. She's nominated and had a bullet work at Churchill this morning in :47 2/5.
What is going on with this horse?? Since his 3rd in the Saratoga Special, he has had one breeze on turf and that was about 2 weeks ago.
