"Curlinites"? Just because they like Curlin and are following his stud career, which has been quite successful thus far, doesn't mean they are some deranged Curlin fans. I found the above post to be well-meaning but slightly offensive.
Sorry that was very long.
PETA is still using one bad apple (well, two, I dislike Asmussen) to damn the entire sport. Note SPORT. I hate their referring to it as "the industry." As an equestrian, I support the sport of racing horses. Not this crap with drugs and such. The INDUSTRY needs to rethink itself, so that the SPORT can be enjoyed. I say ban everything but regular veterinary care. If any given horse can't take that, then so be it. Retire him. He's not in fit condition to run. PETA, although a group of scumbag extremists, has a point- the drugs have gotten bad. Times are all relative, if these drugs are truly "performance enhancing," then the banning of them will simply result in drugless horses that are ever so slightly slower. The recent Lasix study from Hong Kong shows that LASIX IS NOT NECESSARY. Heck, Royal Delta must've been the best we've seen in many years if Lasix actually gives such an edge. I'm not saying it doesn't, but I highly doubt it does. PETA needs to go back to saving the cows from being made into burgers. Racing is obviously not for them. I'd love to see their response to the #FullStoryPETA hashtag.
With a final 1/8 in :13 4/5, closer to :14, in an all-out drive, I wan no part of her going longer.
Thank you. According to a tweet from one of the DRF guys, she is getting a break and will likely be back in the fall.
Why has she not worked since the Debutante?? Is she getting a break or is there a physical issue?
Germany. I generally do not follow soccer/football, but seeing the Germans make it this far has forced me to watch a few matches.
1987 Breeders' Cup Distaff is IMO his best call.
