in the belmont stakes he ran full out on the lead for 1 3/8 mile then got beet by four horses that all liked muddy tracks, infact ruler on ice was the only horse that had won in the slop

i think that shackleford could have gone long distance he just didn't like mud

i think there should be an eclipse award for champion poly track horse. if there was dullahan would win it for shore
