Imagine that Lickin, another one of your Team Valor horses that holds its form for ONE race.
Where are all you geniuses to knock Porter now that he is going to sell HDG just like the owners of Blind Luck did in the same sale? I still can't understand all the negative comments on this site, and BL's "Fan?" page. In fact, where is Loser Sparks with a comment about how Team Valor could do a better job? Where are you people? I understand that it's part of the business.
If that was true Ultimate Eagle would have been favored over Tapizar, I'll Have Another was 43-1 and Willa Be Awesome was also a longshot. Apart from the recent performances I know that we have sent many horses directly from Hollywood Park to race all over the country with considerable success. Blind Luck to Churchill, Delaware Park, Tuscan Evening to Arlington, Dakota Phone to Churchill. All of these examples trained at Hollywood and shipped very close to the race, usually with only a couple days to jog or gallop on the new surface and then a return home right after.
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the icredible success this meeting of horses training at Hollywood Park and then shipping to run at Santa Anita. Escpecially in the stakes races, for example, Ultimate Eagle, I'll Have Another, Include Me Out, Teddy's Promise, The Factor, Compari, Unzip Me, Out Of Bounds, Willa Be Awesome, Mr. Commons and many more. It's a strong argument for getting horses legged up on cushion track and then being able to run on any surface.
Outstanding Protagonist, I give you much respect, how many other people on this site knew that it was the name of horse, I wonder? My first time at the racetrack was at Santa Anita to see Majestic Prince's Derby win, but didn't actually work at the track til 1976, so you outdate me.
Shouldn't Protagonist know something about his namesake?
Who owned and trained 2YO champion Protagonist?
I couldn't believe all the hateful comments on these racing websites when the decision to sell Blind Luck was made. Not a word about selling Royal Delta, Crisp, Switch, Ultra Blend, Dubawi Heights, Life At Ten etc..... Just comments about how Blind Luck's connections were turning their back on her because of one bad race. How stupid do all you people feel now? After all she is being retired sound as a broodmare and has ended up in a great place, guaranteeing she will have a happy life. Maybe next time all you geniuses will wait to see what happens before you bash other people on these sites. Just maybe.
A little surprised about DeadHeat, weren't you the one saying to turn out Blind Luck and let her be a horse? So now the connections are retiring her so as to not risk injury during a 5 year old campaign and you say that they don't appreciate her. Look at all the Grade I winners in the same sale? Make up your mind. As for likin sparks, I'd like you to point out to me ONE Team Valor that held it's form for more than a couple of races, let alone 3 seasons like Blind Luck did. I'll wait! Isn't Gypsy's Warning in the sale as well? What planet are you from?
My opinion is if Blind Luck came to run as a 5 year-old and ran ONE bad race all the "geniuses here would scream to the high heavens, How can they bring her back? Hasn't she done enough> the owners are greedy? Yes or no? So by retiring her early so as to not have a repeat of what happened to Life At Ten or Lady's Secret is supposed to be a bad thing? Tell me what would make you people happy?
