tv...you can't be serious. Did you even watch the race?
Maybe once they moved in the far turn but Tonalist was last going down the back stretch.
That spill wasn't his fault. Alvarado cut him off while trying to make a move. Theres a reason Moreno was DQ'd
Track bias didn't seem to matter for Tonalist and Zivo who both came from same spot that VE Day was. No excuse him.
Im not trying to be gloom and doom Im just going off of recent trends in the last few years. 2011 was different but look at the other recent years. Orb and Oxbow ran a combine total of 3 times after the triple crown...bodemeister, I'll Have another, Creative Cause, Union Rags never ran again. Even this year. Danza, Medal Count, Intense Holiday. These are all talented horses that ended their career because of the triple crown. The horses that become the really good ones down the lines are the ones that usually did not go through this rigorous schedule. Im not saying it is always the case, of course there are exceptions, but there are enough examples in the past few years that it can be concluded that the Triple Crown may not be the best thing for the race horse itself.
The Triple Crown kills these horses. They are not built for it anymore. There are a very few number of them that go through all the triple crown races and can still run at a very high level afterward. Chrome might be done for, and it was a blessing in disguise for shared belief to miss the triple crown, and the same goes for Bayern. I think Shared Belief will be on top at the end of the year.
Seems like it would be a sure thing

I dont really agree with that. I think Pennsylvania is the easy way. The Pacific Classic wouldn't have been the easy way and then we wouldve seen Chrome against shared belief, and the travers wouldnt have been easy either. I dont understand why they would go to Pennsylvania when they had the pacific classic in their backyard and other big races down the road leading to the breeders cup.
Horses are great animals I just dont see all the popularity of this one as a race horse.
