Heartbreaking...
I guess this was one of those that falls under the 15% category.
"He's back!" What a great return to the track for Animal Kingdom. Hopefully, all of his training over the next 6 weeks runs smoothly and he is able to perform at his best in Dubai. Shoud be a fun month and a half.
I can't wait to see him in Dubai (if that is where he ends up). His workouts since injury have been phenomenal, and he is in great shape. And as many have stated, Team Valor and Graham Motion are always going to put their horses well being ahead of everything else. If he is not ready for Dubai, then he simply won't be going. End of story.
From my understanding, the injury that Animal Kingdom suffered in the Belmont was not actually a serious one (not at all career threatening). It was simply something that had to be taken care of and unfortunately sent him to the sidelines for a few months to recover. It is certainlly not something that puts the horse in any jeopardy upon his return. Also, if you have been seeing workout notifications lately, Animal Kingdom has been dominating all horses in his breezes since his return. He is more than ready to hit the track again. That being said, as far as the "likin sparks" comment goes, I think you are completely off on your assesment of Team Valor. They always put the horse's well being ahead of everything else including financial incentives. Animal Kingdom will be more than ready for Dubai, and I can't wait to see him back on the main stage.
