CO's speed figures, albeit on dirt and synthetics are on the light side. It will be asking too much of this horse to win on his first foray on the hillside. I'll play a $5 exacta with 5/4-6.
As a former owner, I've never been enamored with horses that took 8 races to break their maiden.I'll take #3 Starspangled Heat who will be flying at the late stages of the race to put away the need to lead types such as Kingpin Ryno and Circle the Moon.
Nice choice, but wait- Mizdirection has doused white hot's embers twice in CA. With all due respect, I anticipate the same results today. My play: $25 exacta 12/2-4
Oh, those HOMOPHONES!!!
With a big Philly bat, how could the filly WM lose?
I am rooting for WM to win this 1 1/8 mile turf route. lol..
Shack's running style and penchant for not finishing the race is reminiscent of another Roman's trained tlented colt-First Dude. Remember him? I wonder if a switcheroo to Baffert as trainer might work wonders for Shack as it did splendidly for FD. Nothing against Mr. Romans. My prediction in the Indiana Derby: Baffert's Prayer For Relief will defeat Shack in the same way that Lookin at Lucky did to FD in the 2010 Preakness.
Some of us just can't stand excellence, or do I read INVIDIOUSNESS between the lines!
Goldikova's star may have dimmed somewhat with her recent loss to Immortal Verse presumably attributable to soft grounds and a quick 15 day from her last race. But, her 3 year old half-sister Galikova turned the tables on Golden Lilac on the same card. By Galileo, Galikova has already won at 11 and 12 furlongs , more long-winded than her spectacular older sister. One to follow in the future.
The Galileo (successor to sire Sadler's Wells as Europe's leading stallion) and the Danehill mares cross are currently Europe's classic nick. Add Roderick O'Connor and Golden Lilac to Frankel and you have a treble classic winners in 2011 from that cross, a rare phenomenon, indeed!!!
