I am crushed too. I'm 62 years old & have been a racing fan my whole life. I know that IHA would have won tomorrow and my whole last 3 weeks was organized around support for our "Canadian-owned" colt. I respect Team IHA for doing the right thing for the horse, although all the upset caused by NYRA will be something I will never forget.
I'm so happy for you Brian! And Rachel just looks wonderful!!!!
Hi Brian. I agree and would add that, unlike Canada & the USA, the Brits and Aussies breed their horses for the turf.
Hi Brian & Mary: Despite my love and respect for Goldikova, I think Frankel has the advantage at a mile or under. After all, in the Sussex he showed his maturing racing smarts by first stalking and then powering away to beat the likes of Workforce. Other than his clear domination at the distance, he has an age advantage too. I agree, however, that the great Goldikova is VERY consistent and even great thoroughbreds can lose on a bad day. If Frankel isn't at the top of his game -- which seems unlikely -- Goldikova will win. Otherwise, I see Frankel hitting the wire first
