Racing interest:
One of my favorite things in racing is Triple Crown Trail. I adore seeing each horse go through until the final tweny finally are loaded into that historic starting gate at Churchill Downs. Another thing I lvoe is watching Breeder's Cup weekend. Seeing the World's greatest battle it out, pouring their hearts out for us. It is truly stunning to watch.
First track attended:
Monmouth Park
About me/racing interests:
I am a young woman who watches racing religiously. It's funny, I dropped my interest in horses in 2nd grade, thinking I'd never be interested again. But in the fifth grade, I remeber having to do my summer reading, so I grabbed two books and looked around our small one-room library for another prospect. My mother pointed out the horse books and I snatched one up, thankful to be leaving. When I got home, I read my first two and the final book sat on our kitchen table staring me in the face. I finally started reading it. And everything came flooding back. I then watched the 2002 Kentucky Derby, starting my ongoing 12 year love affair with the racetrack. I have one daughter and one son. Alexis and Graham. I only just recently had my son and my daughter was a teenage pregnancy. I met my fiancee through a training barn in our arena and after a few weeks of circling, we finally hit it off and now we have our son. Every year, I go to Monmouth Park whenever I can. It is the highlight of my year.

How did I get into racing?
Probably when I was about 11, I read a book about horses, and then I saw the Kentucky Derby a year or two later on TV, and seeing War Emblem cross that wire, I was immediately hooked. I didn't really have any horse that I latched onto until Zenyatta came along. I learned about her from Animal Planet's 'Jockeys'. She gave me hope in a time in my life that was despairing. I love her mroe than I lvoe anything else and I strive for the day that I can fly out to Kentucky and see her face-to-face.

Favorite racing moment?
My favorite racing moment used to be the 2009 Breeder's Cup Classic. It showed Zenyatta's power and was supposed to silence all of her critics. But alas, it did not. They all said that she ran agazint a field of regular horses, nothing special. But, a year and a half later, I finally admit that my favorite racing moment was the 2010 Classic. Because for a few fleeting seconds, it did silence all of her critics. Everyone was in shock and awe of what had just happened in front of us. The race showed her greatness and proved that she was worth every bit of praise that her fans gave her. Every. Bit.
