Interesting baby race coming up in the 3rd. 1,5,7 for P3. 1&7 coming in off nice works. 5, like the breeding & connections
The talented daughter of Pivotal bolts up under a hand ride by Maxime Guyon to win the G1 Coolmore Prix Saint-Alary and keeps her unbeaten record in tact for trainer Freddie Head and the Wertheimer brothers.
Cozmic One worked 4f today, May 23rd, in 48:90 (b). It was the twenty-seventh fastest of 52 works at that distance.
  • elhubbo · Nothing wrong with that. It's got to be hard to train this horse. Regardless of what he accomplishes his value in the breeding shed is so high, it hard to even aim for full potential. · 1 hour ago
Mike Welsch Belmont Park 2015-05-24 DRF Live Posted : 4hrs 20mins ago MUBTAAHIJ breezed just an average looking five furlongs in company with regular work mate Umgiyo in 1:01.83 from the half-mile pole. He did switch leads once settling into the stretch but pulled up fairly abruptly, galloping out six furlongs in 1:18.40.
Train Shug McGaughey tells DRF's David Grening that he couldn't have been happier with Honor Code's work this morning and is feeling very confident heading into the Met Mile. McGaughey is dismissing Honor Code's disappointing performance in the Alysheba, saying he just didn't feel his horse handled the track that day. He cited the fact that Honor Code has won three of four starts in New York with his lone setback a near miss in the Champagne at 2 and the way he's trained since returning from Kentucky as two reasons why he feel his horse will redeem himself with a big performance in the Metropolitan. According to DRF
California Chrome stats /rate 8.80 looks good. Last race was Dubai World Cup.(2nd) Side Glance - rate 8.15 also in same World Cup (8th). The Great Gatsby at 8.57 (2nd) and Trade Storm at 7.95 (10th) both in Dubai Turf. Do not know what determines their rate. Rest of competition has much lower ratings.
  • Claudia Frances Neal via Disqus · Based on note above chart and I found this information - Rating is based on HRN member voting. HRN Power Rankings Explained We have received a number of emails asking why horses do not move up/down when voted on. Without getting too "statistical," here is how the ratings work... Each horse's HRN Top 250 rating is given a true Bayesian estimate based upon votes from the users. It is a weighting mechanism to adjust a horse's rating score based on the number of votes it has received. The rankings are move than just an average. This prevents a horse from being ranked #1 in the all time ranking with just a single vote of 10 in the wiki. Thus it is important to vote horses based on ability, not in an attempt to "move them up." Since these rankings are brand new, it will take time for them to adjust and regulate to the opinions of the community. The HRN Power Rankings are based on HRN member votes for each horse. Members can vote on each horse once per week, and each Monday night the weekly Power Rankings are updated in a historical snapshot for that week. Members must be logged in in order to vote. Everyone has a different opinion, but below are some general guidelines for ranking horses: RatingGuideline for voting 10 Horse of the Year types 9 Grade 1 winning performance 8 Grade 2 winning performance 7 Grade 3 winning performance 6 Allowance winners 5 Maiden and claiming race winners 4 Have not won yet or infrequent winners · 1 hour ago
Trainer Corine Barande-Barbe blamed Cirrus Des Aigles' defeat on a broken shoe & posted this photo of the damage.
My Point Exactly turned in his final breeze in preparation for Penn Mile. Did an easy 5f in 1:00.63.
EAST HALL turned in his final breeze today 1:00.68 before shipping to Penn National for the Mtnview H. looks good.
I agree with Shug- I think Honor Code ran so poorly last out because of the Chruchill track. Lots of talented horses didn't run well that day. HC does love Belmont and he would have won the Champagne had he not had to go 8-9 wide on the last turn. I will not be surprised if he wins- he is such a talented guy and he can really close well with the speed in this race. I will not be surprised if he loses either because I think Tonalist is unbeatable at Belmont- one turn or not. Look for this to be one great race- a true grade one! I love that no one is ducking anyone this year- it seems to be the trend!
How this horse can be rated below Secretariat is absurd. His record was much better(20 wins, 1 controversial 2nd in 21 races) and he established 3 world records, 2 (5) American records,, 7 track records, and equaled one more while carrying 130 to 138 pounds nine times. Even the great Secretariat can't match that.

  • travel_vic · Review his competition, many contests were simple workouts with ZERO pace pressure...Walkovers in fact..One race he met ONE opponent, a sprinter that had run the day before JUST so it was not listed a walkover. Owner kept him away from the strong competition of the day EXTERMINATOR · 22 days ago
  • HorseRacingReigns via Disqus · Look at his races, seven with only one horse entered. No one can take away that he was a great horse and it is difficult to compare horses across the decades. However, you have to note that Secretariat races, indeed Citation's and Kelso's had far more competition. · 3 hours ago
Pleascach gets up to beat favorite Found and win the G1 Irish 1000 Guineas for Jim & Jackie Bolger. There was a lot of late money that came in for this filly in the race coming her recent win in the G3 Blue Wind Stakes where she showed an impressive turn of foot late to put that race to bed.
Does anyone know how FFO is doing these days?
Solow continues his amazing run of races defeating Gailo Chop, Sparkling Beam, & Cirrus Des Aigles to win the G1 Prix d'Ispahan at Longchamp.
Al Kazeem beats the in form Fascinating Rock to win his second G1 Tattersalls Gold Cup with last year's Great Voltigeur winner Postponed in 3rd and The Grey Gatsby a disappointing 4th.
Doing well at Pegasus!
Going with Eagle Screams in All American.
