Recnetly wrote to a equine genetist at Texas A&M for reference material actually desribing the location, content and processes involoved with ACTUALLY locaing this gene for the hypertrophic heart. Got an interesting, three word response: THERE IS NONE.
  • goblin · Might that geneticist be Dr. E. Gus Cothran, Director of the Animal Genetics Lab at A&M? Formerly of the University of Kentucky? · 408 days ago
  • Sysonby · They've now mapped the equine genome. I've read a number of papers on discoveries related to t his but none on a larger heart gene, so no confirmation that there is such a thing and also no confirmation that, if it exists, it would be passed down the distaff line. · 408 days ago
