  • geldedridgling · IMO Obviously is the only American threat to Wise Dan, but his chances will be greatly compromised by horses like Silve Max or Little Mike, if he goes this direction. The later 2 horses have never and probably can't run as fast as Obviously on the pace but they can pester him enough to use him up before Dan uncorks his run. · 207 days ago ·

  • icyhotboo · Laz, I realize it's just opinion. Many times I don't agree with the year end awards, because as you stated, they're not truly representative of of a particular year, but a life time achievement award that they should have gotten prior. Personally I really don't care about who wins this or that award because it's motivated to generate interest in the sport which is good. I believe even controversy of this kind is good. I've never had anything against any horse, I just don't see how that's possible. For myself and others it's the connections to the horse that elicit emotional responses. I've seen it many times in person, and have seen it stated on this and other sites, both pro and con. My gripe about WD is the owner doesn't need the money, has potentially one the best grass horses in history, possibly dirt as well, and won't let him race with the best by adding the variety the trainer has all but begged him to let him do. Have a good night. · 210 days ago ·

  • MarcelloMarocco · NOBODY will beat Excelebration. The field he beat in France was MUCH more loaded then who ever shows up for the BC Mile. Is the Mile gonna have what 7-8-9 GR1 winners in it?. Excelebration's form is outstanding, he has run every lick vs Frankel, and vs a loaded field in the Jacque de la Marois. Wise Dan needs everything he has in his tank to get to Excelebration in the lane. JMO. Don't get me wrong Wise dan to me is the best North American miler since Soaring free, or even before him in Da hoss. But wise Dan is no Da Hoss just yet, and Soraing free has the 7furlongs Turf record In America. Gonna be a GREAT race, and with Moonlight cloud shipping in also heck ya!!. · 558 days ago ·
