Twilight Eclipse and Vertiformer
Today's race in the W.L. McKnight Handicap is a prime example of why I will not bet on Pressious Passion. Although he ran one of the best races of his career in this year's Breeders Cup Turf, finishing a very game 2nd to Conduit, Pressious Passion is what I call a 50-50 horse. If the right one show's up, he'll take you wire to wire. But, as in about 2 of every 3 races he run's, if he's challenged on the pace, or run's off with too big of a lead, he's always a target for a strong closer. His connection's, IMO, need to find some middle ground with this horse. He could be a front runner without having to blow out to a 15 length head start. That's what cost him against Conduit. That's also what cost him today against a horse in Cloudy's Knight that had already proven himself to be a strong closer in this year's Breeders Cup Marathon. If Pressious Passion continue's in his style of running, he'll continue to run himself out of 2 of every 3 races that he run's in. IMO.
