Am I excited about the Dubai World Cup card? Let me answer it this way ... The eight big races carry a combined purse of $27 million. I say this with my pinkie finger devilishly pointing to the corner of mouth. While the really big money is not available to us, the great card does provide many inter...Read More

Lucky Chappy is on the move … again. A quick peek at the stickers on his suitcase already reveal stays in Ireland, Italy, France, Maryland, Kentucky, and Florida, but it looks like the fun has only just begun for the globetrotting son of High Chaparral. If all goes as planned, you can add the mileag...Read More

There were few surprises in the draw. MARITIMER, Canada’s juvenile champion, did draw in to the main body of the UAE Derby field after Boby Di Job was not entered. Defending Dubai Golden Shaheen champion Rocket Man drew the rail in his attempt to become the first repeat winner of the race since Call...Read More

Boby Di Job is the next UAE winner
  • Cardly Knot · I'm rooting for Maritimer. I need him for the Winstar Stablemates Contest, especially after losing Algorithms. Then again, with my luck Dubai earnings won't count. F-it. · 92 days ago ·

With each passing day it appears more likely there will be a new beast roaming the moors of Louisville just in time for Derby. Master conditioner Aidan O’Brien has announced that as long as Master of Hounds does well in his final work at Ballydoyle, the son of Kingmambo will be jettisoned on to Kent...Read More

  • mshutty · Mr. O'Brien certainly had to learn something from his past attempts with horses in the Derby including Castle Gandolfo and Johannesburg. Without question, Master of Hounds is top grade colt. My only concern for forwardly placed Euro turf/sythetics going to dirt in a race like the Derby is that the pace will be hotter than anything Master of Hounds has encountered before, he's also a bit short as Aiden had confirmed post the UAE Derby with only one race in 2011. Plus, just don't know how this one will take the to the kick back. I love that he is coming to compete adding more intrigue. Plus, there's no question he'll be a pace factor. · 403 days ago ·

This weekend's Derby prep races were rather uninspiring to say the least. I haven't been one to criticize 3-year old crops in the past, but jeez this group just doesn't seem to step up when the spotlight's on. Maybe it's because they are pretenders and those that already have the necessary graded ea...Read More
THE superpowers of European racing dominated the UAE Derby when the Godolphin filly Khawlah (Mickael Barzalona/Saeed Bin Suroor) touched off Ballydoyle's Master Of Hounds in a thrilling finish to the $2 million contest. SWEET DUCKY could go to the Kentucky Derby (G1) if he has a big run in the 2011 UAE Derby (G2), according to trainer Herman Brown.  “It would be tough to turn it down if he runs a great race,” Brown said on Wednesday morning when overseeing BANKABLE’s trackwork for the Dubai Duty Free (G1).&nbs...Read More
