  • tmallios1 · My thing with the race is,it does not matter to me where a horse is situated during the race.As long as they are doing it on their own. Every other race i saw her,she breaks and settles. Then she unleashes that powerful run that we have become so accustomed to seeing. In this race,Rajiv had her on a strong hand ride almost 20 yards after the gates opened.Look at the replay,Look at Johhnny right behind him.Judy was in a hammerlock, that is the type of race i expected. If she did not win,at least she would of finished up nice and strong. This would of set her up perfect for the upcoming Sprint. I do not think, that she got out of therace what she should have. I think to much emphasis was put in trying to win the race that day.In Rajivs defense. If he felt that she was not her normal self, and that he had to urge her to run. Then it becomes a new Ballgame for me at least. Then i am going into the race looking to beat her.Since she will most likely be odds on. · 189 days ago ·

  • Floridaf · I saw what you meant about Rajiv hustling her from the start. My only guess there aside from what you mentioned is that maybe he didn't want to be as far back in the early stages as they were in the Masters. I do tend to look at race placement. It's not a huge factor, but I have found that it does play a part in how a horse performs from time to time. · 189 days ago ·

  • yukichan · Thank you Doug for reminding and/or educating us of these two remarkable horses from a previous era. I have no doubt that we see an Arc winner from Japan one day soon. After all we still have Gentildonna (Deep Impact)! Until then, Gambatte! · 193 days ago ·

  • ILuvTurfRacing · If John Gosden so chooses to bring them both to America for the BC F&M Turf? He's got Izzi Top with a "win and your in" for winning the G1 Pretty Polly Stakes in Ireland. She just finished 2nd in the G1 Prix De l'Opera at Longchamp on Arc day, Sunday. He also has star 3YO filly, The Fugue, with a "win and your in" slot for her win in the G1 Nassau Stakes at Goodwood earlier in the season, too. Both of those fillies could be huge players in the F&M Turf if Gosden brings them? It sound like The Fugue is pretty certain to be sent but I haven't heard yet one way or another if Izzi Top is going to be sent to Santa Anita or not? · 556 days ago ·
