  • buckpasser · TV. It is something. We spent over an hour there looking at all of the graves and thinking of all the great horses that were there. I would love to have seen Bradley's Cemetary, which is at Darby Dan. He had a beautiful bronze statue, life size I believe of Black Toney there with his great progeny buried near by. · 22 days ago ·

We Miss Artie did range into contention during the Fountain of Youth but could not sustain that run against some of Florida’s top 3-year-olds. “He didn’t really have any excuse that we could find out,” Ramsey said. “He came out of the race OK.” While Ramsey noted that We Miss Artie may not be a Derb...Read More

Like Animal Kingdom he demonstrated turn-key speed the race prior to the Spiral. Read "The Lazy Bettor's Guide to the Kentucky Derby" or go to lazybettor.com. They had the winner! · 24 days ago ·

  • jinlie01 · looks like Solitary Ranger and Almost Famous will be the front runners. Not sure if they can stay the distance. Tamarando is definitely the top contender with his record on synthetic and experience with top prospects from CA. But taking a shot with We Miss Artie (4-1 ML) and Poker Player at decent odds..and adding Smart Cover as a longshot..not sure if he can handle these at this point but worth a small bet and exotics play especially at 20-1 or higher. · 25 days ago ·

  • tmallios1 · I do not like Tamarando,in his last win where he was used hard. The horse regressed on his speed figure. If he were the real deal,he would of gone forward. Sorry Sullivan,he still could win this. Other than 1 or 2 others in the field, this is a bad bunch running for half a Million. · 25 days ago ·

Rockhard Ten,Black Onyz's sire, was a huge horse, and one of my personal all time favorites, who could run all day. This horse has some good breeding on the dams side ae well, and could be a possible big upset.I used Mine that Bird at 50 to 1 a few years back, for much the same reasons,I loved Storn Bird as a sire, and he had good breeding up and down.Onyx will get a 50 dollar bill on his nose, minimum, and will be useful in the gimmick betting.
The way Uncaptured is closing= Derby w/another few strides= wins.

I agree tony. I was happy for the connections and Black Onyx. But he is not a derby contender. The fractions in this race were slow to moderate at best. The headline read, Black Onyx finished full of run to win the spiral. Sorry, but he was getting tired in the stretch and could not keep a straight line. But was more than good enough to win. This race told me more about what Uncaptured is not than what Black Onyx is!
