  • Capper · I love that Sassy Image race at Calder, it was Silky Sullivan-esque! I can't disagree with any of your selections, but that BC turf mile was pretty good as well. Sounds like you're all in on Mr. Commons & I hope he gives us lots of thrills this summer and a rooting chance against the Europeans in the BC. · 41 days ago ·

  • cugel the clever · It's hilarious to see how people, who should know better, jump on a horse's bandwagon and make unrealistic exptraplolations based on 1 race. Sidney's jockey said it best: “He’s a really good horse and he likes to run free and easy,”. Please note, GOOD horse, not "great" horse. Horses like Zenyatta and Goldikova have establised a career body of work which qualifies them as GREAT horses. They dazzle against weak competition and they step up their game to dazzle against strong competition. The problem with horses like Sidney's Candy and Quality Road is that they dazzle against weak competition and set track records; but when faced against truly formidable opponents, they fold up their tents and fade into the background. Sidney has consistently folded when faced with the best in the world (or even the USA). · 409 days ago ·
