  • travel_vic · that is the 4th not the third but still wide open and too evenly matched · 1195 days ago
  • travel_vic · Chalk up one for me who NEVER picks the contenders who go on to win races! · 1195 days ago
Kobe's Back is a freak - watch and see :o)
Tapiture the Best bet..
Praying the weather stays nice this weekend, I will be making the treck out to Oaklawn. I am excited. I like Tapiture, Kobe's back and having a hard time deciding between Street strategy/hopportunity
  • Sullivan · PLEASE take pictures! Have fun! · 1198 days ago
  • striped mentality · I hope to take a bunch - the Rebel is the main attraction but it will be great to see the likes of Close Hatches, On Fire Baby, and many of the undercard horses as well. · 1198 days ago
Tapiture, Strong Mandate,Hopportunity draw pp's 3-4-5, Kobe pp8
Wow all the big guns are pointing to this race. Strong Mandate, Tapiture, Kobes Back, Bayern, Honor Code, Ride On Curlin. This race not should but will produce a very good and probally one fo the top 3 favorites for the kentucky derby after all is said and done. And only so many points avaliable and all thoes good horses coming. Cant wait

  • goblin · AoR, There is a mention of Bayern going to the Rebel on the Downey Profile; it's stated there as a possibility. · 1213 days ago
  • Age of Reason · Thank you, Goblin! I was just curious. This race is shaping up to be a good ol' fashioned barn-burner! · 1213 days ago
I have not been able to be around much lately, I miss the horse racing talk. I have a quick question though, I am hoping to make it out to the rebel this year (weather permitting) ... is it the kind of event I will have to buy tickets ahead of time ? (do they often sell out ...?) Are admittance prices raised for bigger events? I don't want to drive the 3+ hours and not be prepared / not be able to get in. Any help would be much appreciated.
  • CauseForConcern · The only thing that you would have to buy tickets ahead of time, would be for box seating. If you like to roam the track, and not concerned about sitting for any specific amount of time, you shouldn't have a problem getting admission. By the way, their biggest day is Arkansas Derby Day. That has been known to have in the neighborhood of 60,000+ in attendance. · 1214 days ago
Honor Code maybe Shared Belief and Indianapolis for Rebel
i think stormy holiday could make a big run theres alot of speed horse here Stormy Holiday bring home
second leg of southwest was 5 lengths faster than first leg; Adirondack King was closing in fast on second leg. With a better post position and with the extra furlong, he is a contender in the Rebel.
  • travel_vic · 1 and 2 out early with 4 6 coming to get them later · 1930 days ago
  • horshumagu · Adk King was not closing in fast, he passed tiring horses. Sabercat is overrated and too slow. I expect Scat and Circle to open up on this bunch, with Najjaar the only one gaining late. The wildcard for me is Unbridled's Note. Last race is a toss and looked beautiful in his maiden but only over 6F. · 1924 days ago

Very impressive race by Lookin at Lucky. If you didn't see it, watch the replay, because he gets checked pretty hard on the backstretch. But coming for home, Garrett Gomez had tons of horse. Very nice dirt debut for Noble's Promise, but it's still hard to imagine him going a mile and a quarter.
