What the Nation is saying about the Pretty Polly Stakes...

Horse racing in the public eye is packed full of imagery of Frankel, Black Caviar and Camelot en route to his Triple Crown attempt but what it doesn't show you in equal abundance is the season John Gosden and William Buick are enjoying thus far. Hot on the heels of back to back St Leger victories in...Read More
  • ILuvTurfRacing · I absolutely love this filly. Really respect how she's stepped up her game as she's gone up each race in grade, and as the level of competition has gotten tougher. Going back to October, 2011, Izzi Top has now reeled off consecutive wins in the G3 Prix De Flore at Saint-Cloud, G3 Dahlia Stakes at Newmarket, G2 Middleton Stakes at York, and G1 Pretty Polly Stakes in Ireland. Her win on Sunday in the Pretty Polly gives Izzi Top the first "win and your in" slot for this year's BC F&M Turf. John Gosden's always been a big supporter of the Breeders Cup. So I'd say it's very likely we'll get to see Izzi Top at Santa Anita come November. Barring anything going wrong with her between now and then? · 351 days ago ·

  • medlocke · I think Treasure Beach is a much better horse than the "so-called experts" gave him credit for being. If Mikhail Barzelona mistimes his ride at Epsom on Pour Moi by even a second, we're looking at a dual Derby winner in Treasure Beach. And if history has taught us anything, it's that only special 3yr.old colt's win both the Epsom and Irish Derbies. I.E., Shergar and Galileo both spring to mind immediately as having won both, along with the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes. · 722 days ago ·
