  • medlocke · I don't like to sound negative. Because I really love to see all of the American horses run well when they ship to Dubai for the major G1 races on Dubai World Cup night. But speaking frankly, Drosselmeyer just simply isn't good enough to win, or even make the frame in the Dubai World Cup. To start with, all of Drosselmeyer's form is on conventional dirt. A very different monster indeed than the tapeta surface at Meydan. Secondly, his only major stakes win came over 12f in the Belmont Stakes against what is really a weak group of 3yr.old's compared to the number of multiple G1 winning older horses that Drosselmeyer will race against in Dubai. And last of all, if the DWC were raced over 12f? Drosselmeyer might have an outside shot at making the frame? But over 10f, against horses like Mendip, Musir, Allybar, Gio Ponti, Bold Silvano, Spring of Fame, and others who have thrived on the tapeta at Meydan. Drosselmeyer is likely to get out-paced badly over 10f. JMO. · 360 days ago ·
