  • RyanBrady · Sunrise Smarty is my pick in this race, because he is not "The Highweight", and his early speed on the Aqueduct racetrack (Main or Inner) is as dangerous as they come. If Todd Pletcher leaves one of his in the race rather than opting for The Grade 1 Cigar Mile on Saturday then they will be the ones to beat on paper. One of the nicer editions of this race in recent years. · 77 days ago ·

This week Scott Dick, of Hoosier State of Mind, teams up with Joe DePaolo, of Fast Times at Belmont Park, to ask the the Uncle Mo question ... Use 'Em? Or Lose 'Em? Read More
  • KyOaksRunner · I loved this, it's such a good format and the questions asked and answered were really informative and insightful! I agree with Scott on this one. Uncle Mo's lack of foundation this year worries me, but not his pedigree. I'll be rooting for him in the Classic. · 100 days ago ·

  • DeadHeat · And many of you need one in reality. What i said is completely true. If you want to be technical, over 90 of horses in this sport are not clean, but are because of what is made legal. Winstrol was at the time, so even it showed up in Curlin's blood, it would have been fine. I also provided you with facts above that say that that particular drug does not produce much weight gain or muscle gain, unlike typical steroids. That particular drug is actually used to treat conditions that cause swelling, and it reduces it. Swelling typically comes from when blood flows highly to one area of the body causing it to swell and become stiff and painful. If it reduces swelling then this drug would be an equivalent to aprin or motrin to humans. · 101 days ago ·

  • GoTexas · Oh yeah....GO MO! I have to laugh. Thinking back to those dark times when Mo was in 'rehab' at WinStar. I was following Mo's status as much as I could on Facebook. There were LOTS of messages every day from lots of people just wanting to know how he was doing. Every now and then we'd get an update or, better yet, a VIDEO of our boy. I think I made a comment one time about wondering the the WS folk had any idea what they were getting when they had 'MO in the house'. So many fans just love this colt (me too!). We've always considered him a champ! · 108 days ago ·

  • CauseForConcern · DeadHeat, thanks for the acknowledgement. I didn't expect many, if any, to support my choice. THAS and ST met once, in the Florida Derby, and THAS was the better in that race(although a ways back). His time in this last race was 2 seconds faster than when he ran in the Florida Derby(although different tracks). I do believe he's on the upswing, but, then again, he can prove me wrong in the Pa Derby. Looks like that race could shape up to be a good one, with Uncle Mo possibly committing. · 163 days ago ·

  • AmbitiousD · Mo really ran his heart out as if almost telling his owner he wanted to keep racing. I truly hope Repole doesn't retire Mo. These horses are athletes and warriors and in any major sport, there will be injuries and illnesses when competing at the top level of competition. Imagine if every NFL QB retired after receiving a concussion. It's difficult to watch horses get retired with such a "half glass empty," or a "what could go wrong, will go wrong" mentality. True champions are defined by the adversities they overcome and proving their greatness.Common Mikey, let him run!!! · 164 days ago ·

  • DeadHeat · He made the comment right after the race. I don't believe any channel showed it, but it was reported on DRF and USA Today that he said that. However, he now seems much more upbeat. It looks as though Mo will go to the PA Derby, where he will face THAS. · 164 days ago ·

He is a picture of health and his work was very impressive. He is also dead fit for this, the training track has no bottom to it so it is a good five to seven lengths slower than the main, it really buts a foundation on a horse. · 167 days ago ·
