Shared Belief wins the classic by 3 lengths
  • Pebbles via Disqus · Well, I wish he was here to give us that thrill. · 13 hours ago
Bred to Malibu Moon for 2015 foal
I saw an article in 2015 where Baffert was interviewed about Dortmund. Here are some of his honest assessments of Dortmund: 1) He thought Dortmund, for all his size and success, was a grinder. 2) He compared Dortmund to Wisconsin's star player, Frank Kaminsky "he can dunk!"
Lani will return December 4th in the Champions cup Gr I @Chukyo
  • Pebbles via Disqus · He finished 9th. NOt a good ride. Had to check in the stretch and flattened out. http://japanracing.jp/_news2016/161204.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCvegIuk_iw · 14 hours ago
Beautiful mare despite her not so great career. Looking forward to seeing how her foals do.
American Cleopatra is arguably the quickest Pioneerof the Nile's 2 year olds to date. But she hits the wall after the first 4 furlongs.
There was talk of Mo Town pointing to the Gotham Stakes for his Derby prep race, and then usually the winner there runs in the Wood Memorial. Does the downgrading of the Wood Memorial affect where he may point?
He's still the best, he travelled like a DREAM in the Classic, he cantered all over his rivals and had 'Arrogate' in BIG TROUBLE, just a shame that 'Arrogate' found a 2nd wind in the last 30 yards or so to grab a 'last grasp' victory!! If and when they meet again, California Chrome will get his revenge, 100%. :-)
  • slewcrew7778 · lol...That's one way of looking at it I guess!... · 2 days ago
  • Pebbles via Disqus · I think you mean last "gasp" victory and Arrogate did not seem to be too winded at all after that effort. :-D · 13 hours ago
Got to see him in June at winstar. Wish he was staying in the states
TERRA PROMESSA RUNNING THIS WEEKEND WHOO HOO
ANY baby precocious enough to get 9 panels at two is well on their way to getting 10 that first Saturated in May. NOW, many peak out at that level and do not advance, so we shall see but BEFORE the Breeder's Cup this race was the indicator of a good three year old campaign with Northern Dancer, Damascus, Jim French, Key to the Mint, Pleasant Colony, Mohaymen, No Biz, Toccet, Go for Gin, Pine Bluff, Court Vision, Instrument Landing, Javas Gold and others who won it...

  • triplechrome · That was my thinking with Mohaymen last year. I see that Falcon Wings has ran 1 1/4 already · 4 days ago
  • Pebbles via Disqus · True, but the last Wood Memorial entry to do anythiing of import in the Triple Crown was Funny Cide who finished second in the race in 2003, 13 years ago, before that Monarchos in 2001 finished second in the race. Mark Casse often likes to use Keeneland for BC and Derby prep races. I wounder with the Bluegrass Stakes losing its G1 status if he thinks of heading elsewhere for a prep.
Bob Baffert said he won't enter Arrogate in the PWC if he does not think he can win, he feels his horse would have to be as fit as he was going to the Breeder's Cup Classic to have a chance to win. Would he find a prep for Dubai or just keep working this horse. I'm a California Chrome fan who really wants to see these top horse face off again, maybe with Highland Reel thrown in the mix also. Jack Wolf, CEO of the Pegasus World Cup Invitational has reached out to the owners of Austrailian Horse of the Year Winx and is trying to recruit a Japanese horse also.

  • ILuvTurfRacing · @Tyrone Floyd, Hate to disappoint you, but you're not likely to see Highland Reel ever race on anything but the green stuff. He's getting ready to defend his crown in the G1 Hong Kong Vase on December 11th and then he'll likely be sent back to Ireland to prepare for the G1 Dubai Sheema Classic in March. · 16 hours ago
  • Ross via Disqus · Don't get your hopes up on Winx as well. Doubt they'll ship her all the way here to go against the best dirt runners in the world and males nonetheless. · 16 hours ago
According to an article that appeared on this morning's Racing Post web-site, the William Haggas trained Mutakayyef is being pointed for the G1 Jebel-Hatta & G1 Dubai Turf at this year's Dubai Carnival which starts next month at Meydan.

  • cedar · Do you know how much he's standing for? Thanks for posting all of these conformation shots, they're a lot of fun to look at. Also reminding me of so many past favorites! I love all these turf Phipps/Janney horses we've been seeing in the past few years - Imagining, Mr Speaker, Ironicus, Point of Entry. Always root for these connections and Shug. · 19 hours ago
If Arrogate lost the Pegasus World Cup to California Chrome would you want to see a third race?
  • Show All 3 Comments
  • ILuvTurfRacing · I sure would. And where else better to do it than at Meydan in late March back at the classic distance of 10f in the Dubai World Cup! I'm pretty sure though that Chrome's trainer, Art Sherman, already said after the BC Classic that win, lose, or draw the Pegasus Cup will likely be Chrome's final race. · 1 day ago
  • Kimberly Beth via Disqus · Hopefully he won't run it. No need to, he already beat Chrome, he has nothing to prove here. · 21 hours ago
Is he still racing?
  • pointgiven23 via Disqus · I assume so but he's always had issues staying healthy. I doubt the layoff was for any reason other than injury. No works since September · 23 hours ago
