I am eating some major crow today. I thought Exaggerator would do much better.I have to admit that I am a bit biased toward him seeing him as playing 2nd fiddle to Nyquist for so long. It just seems like this year many of the critics may have been right that this is a weak class of horses. No denying, though, when he was brilliant, he was brilliant. I have to say that perhaps he is just an wet track specialist at this point. This is 3 races in a row where he had no excuses at all.
Lindyhop is entered to race 9/24 Race 8 at Mountaineer Lindy can run a big race the only thing I don't like in the race is there is so much speed we can rate and close. So far she has had a great 2016 and has been earning almost everytime out.
11 for 11. What is your favorite race of hers that she has won? Mine is the breeders cup juvenile fillies. The way she dominated that stellar field, with the ease that she did it in a time that beat Nyquist the future Kentucky derby winner- it was a look into the future if her brilliance. I'm interested to hear your picks!

Sorry for my english, but i have a question about BC Challenge. CC runs in the Pacific Classic and he won it, so he's now in BC Classic. But now he will run in Awesome Again and this is another race from BC Challenge (Classic), and what in this case if he win it? Another horse just lose the spot in Classic or when one horse win two races the second one in (for example) Awesome Again has the spot? Thanks for answer.
Da Big Hoss will NOT run in the Melbourne Cup and will stay home for the Breeders Cup Turf. He will likely make his next start in the Canadian International in two weeks at Woodbine.
This half sister to Goldikova, Galikova, Anodin, and Born Something debuts today. She's in the Prix Ténébreuse at Maisons-Laffitte, Race 4! Several other fillies that look like they could be high class, too.
Pretty amazing maiden debut - Véranda (Canford Cliffs half brother to Viserano) just pipped Natagora's colt, Mankib, by a nose. The entire first 5 home were within a length of each other - Falcon Wings (a Nathaniel half brother to Wedding Ring), Graphite (a Shamardal half brother to Fairly Ransom and Fairly Fair), and African Ride (a Candy Ride half brother to Rafting). The Azamour half brother to Veda was back in 8th. All in all, it was a maiden full of well related and promising colts.
Songbird will turn out to be even better than Zenyatta and Rachel Alexandra. I think Songbird is the best filly America has EVER seen!!!!! :-)
Great race, but it absolutely muddies the 3 year old division even further.
  • hoof_hearted2016 · Forget about the male division, there's only 1 SUPERSTAR 3 yr old in the USA, and that's Songbird. She beats all those 3 yr old males EASY!!!! · 6 hours ago
Man I really liked this horse in the Preakness and he just had a terrible day. maybe it was the slop?? But he had another nice race today proving he can be a dirt horse and he is not just a turf horse.
Runhappy blazes 4F in 46 3/5, gallops out in 58 1/5, final work before 2016 debut next week in the Ack Ack. Safe to say, I think he's ready.
  • hoof_hearted2016 · The thing is though, the 'Ack Ack' field will probably be very weak, so anything other that an impressive romp by Runhappy will be classed as a disappointment! I just have reservations about Runhappy, for me, even if he does well in the Ack Ack and wins impressively, I still think the BC Dirt Mile will be way too competitive for him in my opinion. He will likely be facing "Gun Runner", "Dortmund", "American Freedom", "Awesome Slew", and maybe even "Frosted". · 6 hours ago
Gun Runner seems to be really coming into his own! If he hadn't gone so wide today in the Pennsylvania Derby he would have had first for sure! I really like Gun Runner. He is going to be a force to be reckoned with in his 4 year old campaign.
  • Bill Harman via Disqus · That's what I've been telling everyone om HRN..and quite a few say no way he would've won-that Connect would've just dug in harder. I agree that he shouldve--well could've easily anyway~ · 6 hours ago
Two losses in the G3sphere to two of the three best three year olds in the country(IMO anyway) followed by three wins over weak competition. However just look at the winning times of Gun Runner and AF and then the winning times TC has produced. He is not a G1 horse(he barely beat Dalmore) and his connections shouldn't put him higher than lower prestige G2 races. If they do this, he can probably keep winning for awhile.
A nice 'paid workout' for CC, then onto the Classic. Bring it on Arrogate you young 'pretender', California Chrome will show you who's boss!!! :-)
Congrats TX Chrome.
I'd just like to toss something out there, because I haven't seen many others mention it, but... Nyquist didn't run a bad race. He was in a good position and seemed game. He was just coming off of a two month layoff and wasn't the fittest horse on the track. He got some fitness and he'll do better next time, hopefully :)

  • MaryZinke via Disqus · This seems quite reasonable. Nyquist's team needs to quit effingaround with him. Very weird coming from this team. Leaves me not knowing where he fits in now. And the trainer taking the blame for the rides is beyond. · 19 hours ago
  • Horse longevity · True, now how will ONeil capitalize on that? Will he push for every bit of improvement needed so that the Nyquist progression from Penn Derby to BCC looks like Cal Chromes did 2 years ago? · 10 hours ago
Sadly he's starting to look like the modern day Morvich
  • Horse longevity · Morvic only attempted 4 races after the derby though, and many kentucky derby winners and other top horses (Go for Gin or Strike the Gold for example) max out their adrenaline level in the Triple Crown and can take several months to build it back if they are still racing then. Cal Chrome had a slump of loosing 5 of 6 races after his Preakness win, but raced long enough for the best to come back to him. The slump pattern is nothing new or usual. · 10 hours ago
California Chrome polishes off this very good field to put any doubt to rest who is the HOY
I'm not surprised in the slightest. I could tell in the walking ring, this was not a happy horse. He wasn't happy at all. I can not BELIEVE his trainer and jockey could be so stupid! That horse is a sprinter, I've said it countless times, but no one would believe me. They would point out the races he won past a mile, but they clearly didn't see that, after every one of those, Nyquist was exhausted. After the Derby, he was so tired I was surprised he could even walk in the winner's circle. He was so bathed in sweat his coat looked about 5 shades darker. I knew he would flop unless he was put in a mile race. They need to think about him. He's going to be so dejected and unhappy. He needs to be in a mile or less race that he can win so he can get his confidence back.

  • Horse longevity · Nyquist was exhausted after the Kentucky Derby with sweat covering his coat? Well this is news to me. What video best shows this? · 11 hours ago
Just as Creator and Mohaymen are getting the rest of 2016 off to rest, I think Exaggerator and Nyquist should do the same.
  • Pitbull · Nah resting = rust. That's their problem. Nyquist needs a new jockey and trainer but needs to keep racing.JCGC should be next. On the other hand Mohayen just needs to Retire he has nothing anymore.. · 17 hours ago
