Despite a concern about Ever So Lucky’s final tune-up, trainer Jonathan Sheppard entered Augustin Stable’s 3-year-old colt in the $150,000 Hutcheson Stakes on Saturday’s Donn Handicap (G1) program at Gulfstream Park.Read More
  • hshfarms · It kinda seems like Mr. Sheppard is not pointing this talented colt to Kentucky Derby, mainly by the point he makes about other Graded races being too long. · 111 days ago ·

  • Floridaf · I don't think that's it, hshfarms. Ever So Lucky hasn't raced since November, and Sheppard probably just wants to get a shorter stakes race under the colt's belt before he puts him back in a route. Even if he decides to wait for the Swale, there would still be time to get in another prep race before the Derby. · 111 days ago ·

Flashpoint, shipping in from New York for Rick Dutrow Jr., stole the show in the $150,000 Hutcheson (gr. • ajump08 · As a side note I'd like to mention that there is no way that the 83 Brisnet Speed figure that was listed for Flashpoint's maiden is correct. 1:09:3 definitely deserves a better rating; races going under 1:12 have been recieving speed figures well over 83. Just thought I'd throw hat out there. · 459 days ago ·
