  • BOLD rULER · I think he can come back and get the distance. I think afleetalex hit three main factors but I don't think Hansen ran near his best race. I agree that if they can get him too relax then he could probably get the Derby distance. Maybe the blinkers off and another race under his belt (win or lose) sets him up for a good Derby shot with a nice price Derby day. I like his pedigree and I think he should be able to get that distance come Derby day. · 7 days ago ·

  • 12 Clip · Nice work Iron Maidens. Algorithms is a horse who caught my eye breaking his maiden at Belmont. I like the way he moves. There's no wasted energy. He loves the slop and the Bernardini's seem to keep getting better. The way this horse disposed of Hansen was rather impressive. I expected him to beat Hansen but not by five under wraps. Still, it's only January, and as I often say, "they might look good now, but are they gonna look good later."We'll see. Once again thanks for the breakdown. Peace. · 9 days ago ·

  • DeadHeat · Driveon, where did I ever say people take the top BSF and run with it? Some do, I have heard some people who think they are the be all end all. Personally, up until last year, I didn't have an huge problem with them. They made more sense. This year and last year the haven't. Again, the main thing here is put out the most accurate info you can, and he didn't. · 5 days ago ·

  • linda.mitchellbender · You make me feel much better with your expert advise. I have watched Hansens races with much excitment. I listened to the trainers comments several days before the race and read everything I could find on the Web. DRF messed up my account so I couldn't see the race or bet. I called a friend and was told about the outcome. I read a clip that said the race time was off at Gulfstreamm as has been in many 1 mi.races. Upon checking with another timer it was 135 & chg. not 137. That even makes his fractions faster. I hope he came out of the race OK, as he had never ran on an off track, stumbling at the start and being passed before the wire. All new for him! Please don't ever think that they don't know if they have won or not. They know! Their whole attitude is different. I had a mare that after she won a race would actually do a little dance when cooling out, and a gelding that after a win would kick up in back every 3 or 4 steps on his way to the test barn. I hope the trainer & Jocky can figure out this talented colt. We need a special horse in this business badly! Will see what the future brings. I would like to hear your coments on the time. I know the ones posted at Gulfstream were fast enough for a mile! · 7 days ago ·

  • linda.mitchellbender · P.S Hansens has speed & distance in his pedigree. Tapit, AP Indy, Unbridled, storm cat to mention a few. He is a champion if he never runs another race as 3 yr. old champion Eclipse winner and having 1,18 mil. in winnings. a worthy sir to many. I hope he can go on to rack up more money. Time will tell if his connections can figure it out. · 7 days ago ·

  • Floridaf · Scott, I almost wonder if the stumble at the start made Hansen panic a little bit. Up until yesterday, he had never been behind another horse, so my theory is that when he saw he was behind, he panicked, sprinted forward, and continued on in such fashion to remain in front even though he wasn't pressured early. JUST a theory, though. A lot of people are wanting to write off the colt on account of this race, but I believe it's too soon for that. And if I haven't said, let me just put it out there that I think Algorithms ran a great race. On account of the Hansen debacle, he is not getting nearly enough credit for the win. · 10 days ago ·
