  • DeadHeat · And many of you need one in reality. What i said is completely true. If you want to be technical, over 90 of horses in this sport are not clean, but are because of what is made legal. Winstrol was at the time, so even it showed up in Curlin's blood, it would have been fine. I also provided you with facts above that say that that particular drug does not produce much weight gain or muscle gain, unlike typical steroids. That particular drug is actually used to treat conditions that cause swelling, and it reduces it. Swelling typically comes from when blood flows highly to one area of the body causing it to swell and become stiff and painful. If it reduces swelling then this drug would be an equivalent to aprin or motrin to humans. · 101 days ago ·

  • shadowno · Unless Stay Thirsty pops and wins the BCC this should be a no brainer for Animal Kingdom. He won the race they all wanted to win, ran a big Preakness and was injured likely during the running of the Belmont. Even with a BCC win it doesn't get any bigger than Kentucky Derby. · 121 days ago ·

  • RaTalk_Girl · shadowno, interesting thoughts. I cannot disagree that every 3 year old wants that Derby win, but is it really enough. I do think that your argument about his Preakness run could change my mind. He looked great in the Derby and I do not think the way he ran in the Preakness is second to anyone. It will be interesting to see what the rest of the season brings. · 121 days ago ·

  • likin sparks · I know where Mike is coming from, with this years race is kinda weak where half the competion has had a difficult time placing in the money so I wouldn't think the WOW factor will be there. As much as I haven't been sold on Stay Thirsty for him not to win by 7 or 10 lenghts would be a kick in the can. · 135 days ago ·

  • cleclair1994 · i meant his performace was monsterous. but i guarantee at the end of the year he will be top 3 year old. shackleford cant get 1 1/4 miles. animal kingdom is hurt so he cant be champ 3 yr old. hopefully coil will come to the travers and if he does he will beat stay thirsty and will prove he is best. baffert knows when he has a good horse. he gets him to close. something pletcher doesnt know how to do with a good horse. he lost any confidence with me in good horses last year in how he handled quality road. · 192 days ago ·

I dont think this race should hold the 3 yr old champion horse... not all of the top horses from this year are in this race.. completely unfair! give it until the breeders cup and see who prevails.. AK, is my personal favorite for the 3 yr old champion but you have to look at ALL the 3 yr olds not just the ones who happened to get picked for one race! there are a lot more equal quality if not better horses out there

  • LAZMANICK · DeadHeat……….I’m not trying to argue with you and I’m no saying that you commented one way or another. I just wondered if you had ever heard of anyone calling the Travers Saratoga’s signature race. Regarding the fields for the Haskell. They seem to be getting deeper with talent in the past few years than they used to be and I think that one reason is the 9F distance. I also agree with Mike that the Travers is the greatest race for three year olds outside the Triple Crown. The Haskell to me has always been like a Blue Grass or a Florida Derby or a Wood Memorial, a top G1, but not on the same level as the TC races and the Travers. · 197 days ago ·

  • DeadHeat · I have heard it called that and I most certainly believe in that name. However, I would disagree with you on the level of the Haskell. I would actually liken it to the Preakness, the baby child when standing next to the Derby which has so much age and prestige. While it still draws some wonderful deep and talented fields, it in no way can be called equal to the Derby. · 197 days ago ·
