It seems to be a clear double standard. The message would seem to be: There is no need for American horses to prove themselves by traveling outside of our cozy borders, while conversely, international horses can only truly prove themselves by running in the United States. • dubairacenight · Kinsale King was the last winner for the US, in 2010, but numbers have been down for overall US shippers. As for Lynne's remark, I have never seen better on-track conditions anywhere in the world for stabled horses as those that exist in the UAE. They put US backsides to shame. · 438 days ago ·

  • RichardGross · My point: It's settling in after the travel and the place more than the surface. By the time Curlin won in a hand ride (yes, on real dirt), he felt like it was home. having been there since late January (and winning the Jaguar for practice). Well Armed (third in that race) wins the next year on a less-than-perfect day with an amazing trip and a first-time DWC rider. Hey, guess where Gloria de Campeao finished? Neither he nor Lizard's Desire returned in 2011 when the Japanese take win and place. But show? Why do I think this is so obvious? Because it is. · 439 days ago ·

ROCKET MAN was denied back-to-back wins in the Golden Shaheen by the Kieren Fallon-partnered Krypton Factor. Last year's winner disputed the lead withearly pacesetter Giant Ryan and was clear of rivals turning for home. But the pace had been strong and as Rocket Man's boosters began to fade Krypton ...Read More
Hello to all from Dubai. Normally, we are quick to put together post-race thoughts on the full gamut of activity from the 2012 Dubai World Cup, but given the emotionally charged nature of the day, both powerful and challenging, we thought it best to let our thoughts settle for some time. We do not v...Read More
Am I excited about the Dubai World Cup card? Let me answer it this way ... The eight big races carry a combined purse of $27 million. I say this with my pinkie finger devilishly pointing to the corner of mouth. While the really big money is not available to us, the great card does provide many inter...Read More

There were few surprises in the draw. MARITIMER, Canada’s juvenile champion, did draw in to the main body of the UAE Derby field after Boby Di Job was not entered. They say perfection is unattainable, and as a practicing golf instructor, I’m inclined to agree, but maybe even if this is the sad reality for the human race, we can still strive to find perfection within our world.
