What the Nation is saying about the Godolphin Mile...

JOCKEY Frankie Dettori nominated African Story as his best chance of a winner on the star-studded card on Saturday and his mount lived up to the billing as he stormed clear to land the opener at Meydan in a race sponsored by his owners. African Story, trained by Saeed Bin Suroor, took up the running...Read More
SKYSURFERS continued trainer Saeed Bin Suroor's and jockey Frankie Dettori's good record in the Godolphin Mile when he defeated Mufarrh in the Group 2 contest at Meydan on Saturday. Bin Suroor has now won the race eight times, while Dettori was recording his sixth success, and the pair looked to hav...Read More
  • medlocke · When he's fresh and ready to go. There's just no keeping up with Skysurfers over a mile on that Meydan tapeta. He really thrives on that surface. He overcame a P.P #13 draw to win the Godolphin Mile today. After setting the Meydan track record for a mile on tapeta in his previous start winning the G3 Firebreak Stakes. He left I Want Revenge in his wake. Beat him by more than 8 lengths. IWR ended up 10th in the Godolphin Mile. Duttrow better be happy he wasn't entered in the Dubai World Cup or it would've likely been a worse defeat than he suffered in this race. · 431 days ago ·

  • medlocke · Tough draw for Godolphin's Skysurfers in the Godolphin Mile. He looked incredible when he beat Musir in the Firebreak Stakes and set a Meydan track record for a mile on tapeta in that race. I put him up as the most likely winner of this year's Godolphin Mile that day. But with this extremely wide P.P draw, it could certainly make thing's very difficult for Skysurfers. I'd have to say given his previous start at Meydan, and the good P.P. draw he has, keep a close eye on Conveyance in this race. JMO. · 436 days ago ·

I Want Revenge is going to Dubai after all. Unfortunately for trainer Rick Dutrow and an ownership group headed by the IEAH Stable, he won't be going into the race they'd hoped for. I Want Revenge will compete in the $1 million Godolphin Mile at Meydan on the evening of March 26 rather than the main...Read More
  • medlocke · He'll be lucky to even make the frame in the Godolphin Mile, IMO. Skysurfers will be the horse to beat in that race, and there's others entered that run the tapeta extremely well also. It's a big ask by Dutrow for I Want Revenge in this race. · 447 days ago ·
