What the Nation is saying about the El Camino Real Derby...

Autism Awareness, the winner of the 2008 El Camino Real Derby (G3), broke down in Sunday’s seventh race at Santa Anita and had to be euthanized. It is a sad coincidence that April is also Autism Awareness Month.Read More

G3 El Camino Real Derby at Golden Gate Fields, run at 1 1/8 miles over the main synthetic Tapeta surface. In 31 runnings (1982-2012) the El Camino Real Derby has produced just one Kentucky Derby winner (Charismatic-1999) and two Kentucky Derby runners-up (Cavonnier-1996 and Casual Lies-1992). Read More

Southern California shipper Dice Flavor, whose only four starts had been on grass for trainer Paddy Gallagher, burst away from the field past mid-stretch to easily win the $200,000 El Camino Real Derby (gr. III) in an upset at Golden Gate Fields Feb. 16. Read More
Wow, awesome race to watch!!!! I was puling for the 6, but I hit the exacta, and a win bet on the 9, and P-S on the 6. As for the derby, I think none of these challenge the derby. The 9 looks like a artificial beast, and the 6 seems like a artificial or turf horse too. Nonetheless, great race to handicap, bet, watch and cash on.
