Delta Downs Jackpot

What the Nation is saying about the Delta Downs Jackpot...

Forget Belmont, Del Mar or Keeneland, the next place I want to see host the Breeders’ Cup is Fairplex Park. I could see it now, the BC Classic horses going round and round the five-eighths mile racetrack. Wouldn’t that be fun? Best of all, I would get my future bet in for the Classic on the same day...Read More

  • LaurieRoss · Hard Spun has a 10F winner on dirt (Questing) & Charismatic is in Japan. He has only 1 SW as a broodmare sire, and that one is a winner at 9F. 2nd damsire of Wicked Strong is With Approval, MGSW at 10 - 12F. Candy Ride has no 10F SW over dirt. Storm Cat is the damsire of 3 SW at 10F over dirt. 2nd damsire Grenfall failed to win 2x at 10F, as did his daughters' best offspring (Twilight Agenda). There's more stamina on Wicked Strong's bottom line than Shared Belief's. I agree that Hard Spun isn't a true 10F horse, but under the right cirmstances, he can sire a 10F horse. · 102 days ago ·

  • travel_vic · this is the quote that relates to that: I'm not sure that Rise Up's pedigree screams Classic distance winner. Based on what I've seen so far, I think 9 F may ultimately be his limit, · 142 days ago ·
  • Floridaf · And if you continue that sentence, you'll see that I also said that horses have outrun their pedigrees. · 142 days ago ·

  • Davidm9999 · I think you have a fair assessment on this colt. Not likely a classic type but certainly talented at this early stage. This was not a stellar field plus he had it all his own way but the track record at least indicates he ran swiftly. I wonder what he was purchased for after the MTR win? I agree with Shackleford that Rankhasprivileges showed some potential. He was very wide launching from the rear. Einstein has thrown a few winners already. He has cost me several nice tickets. About ready to give Einstein his due with his juveniles. · 145 days ago ·
  • Floridaf · I really like Rise Up, whether he turns into a Classic winner or not. However, I think your assessment is pretty spot on and is about the same conclusion I came to myself. But hey, there's nothing wrong with being a good sprinter. · 144 days ago ·

  • cocoa2 · "Misty Grey", I was told she was "arabian t'roo, and t'roo" but at 17 hands, full dapples and a lip tattoo, I have trouble believing that. An Uncle owned her, and he had a thoroughbred or two. Only raced one that I know of, Bold Bodhran. · 365 days ago ·

With a name like Goldencents, you might expect the protagonist in this story to be surrounded by Bentleys, martinis shaken not stirred, supervillains, and Bond girls, but not so. • icyhotboo · zatt, on that particular track the #9 post, with his early speed gave him a big advantage. I used to go to a harness track with that configeration, Vernon Downs. Horses with early speed usually got the position they wanted. I didn't expect BI to be sitting behind a wall of horses either though. I didn't think he'd get there on that track. Nice runs by both. · 519 days ago ·
