  • john.gibson.714655 · I see that Team Pletcher trains 60% of your list. How many colts do you think that they have pointed to the Derby? Is their "first string" in Florida? · 187 days ago ·

  • AndyScoggin · john.gibson--I think all of the Pletcher horses on the list are targeting the Derby. Violence will try the artificial surface at BHP this weekend. The more chances to survive to the Derby the better. Yes, his best horses are in FL. · 186 days ago ·

  • DeadHeat · Too early to tell that Brian. Out of Bounds looks like one that can handle more distance, and DD looked to have a lot more in the tank. Elusive Quality has sired some top horses at distances, just look at Raven's Pass and Smarty. QR also was grade one placed at 10f. He could go either way with Forestry, but I do believe that the UAE Derby is longer than a mile. 10f may have been to much for DC, but during his prime that speed could be carried a good ways. · 528 days ago ·

  • terri.zeitz · Check out the article in the Saratogan on Dec 7th, "Rising Stars: Discreet Dancer Dazzles in Debut", The article talks about his extremely talented and classy dam and her female family. His dam, West Side Dancer, is out of Gone West. The Gone West line has produced Excluswive Quality, Smarty Jones, Awesome Feather, and Quality Road. Tood Pletcher said Discreet D was not at all tired after a mile and can go the classic distances. Look at his dam's line to see that quality. Both he and Awesome Feather are on facebook. Pletcher has a Little Red monster in his barn. And you can only bet on him in futures, as he has 4 to 5 odds at the track in his first 2 races. · 523 days ago ·

  • DeadHeat · I think Speight will be better prepared to run than he was in either the BCJ or Remsen. He had a good race at the distance and track in his last, so other than a bad trip, a poor performance coming from him will have no excuse. IV is dominating, I wouldn't be surprised to see him take this in the least. Shacks little bro is a big colt, and may take some time to get used to that gigantic frame. I think he'll only get better with distance and age. Alpha is a deserving favorite, but this is far from a slam dunk. · 530 days ago ·
