  • rossington · I'm just really glad to see a deserving colt like Musket Man back racing and competing successfully again. He was one of my favorites in 2009 during the run up to the 09 Kentucky Derby, because I felt he had a lot of talent, and was being looked over in favor of some of the other, more "marque" named colt's at the time, like Friesan Fire, Pioneer of the Nile, Dunkirk, and others. I think because he took the Tampa Bay Derby and Illinois Derby route coming into Churchill was why many overlooked him. But to see him come back in February after such a long lay-off to win the Super Stakes, and then run a superb place effort to Warrior's Reward, just missing by a whisker today, gives me a whole lot of hope for Musket Man's future during his 4yr.old campaign. I can't wait to see how he'll fair against Quality Road in the Met Mile, seeing how the two never got a chance to meet during the 09 Kentucky Derby or Preakness. · 676 days ago ·
