yukichan · I've been a Black Caviar fan for a while and have wondered why she rates so low on HRN's lists? She will surpass Phar Lap's record. I assumed, as you noted, that we don't get enough news from down under--the races or horses just don't ping here. I hope BC gets to a Breeder's Cup. · 718 days ago ·

Woodbine · It just stands to reason that Black Caviar has more bite than Hot Danish. Absolutely raw talent! I'd love to see how Black Caviar faired over Woodbine's E.P. Taylor Turf Course. One of the finest turf courses in the world for one of the finest mares. You're right about there being nothing comprehensive written about her. Good for you to change that! We just have to get her into the mainstream press now. I believe if racetracks stepped up with a nice purse injection (for instance if Woodbine upped the ante of the Grade 1 Nearctic, six furlongs on International Day to say $1 million IF Black Caviar attended) it might serve to generate the coverage in the media that she so richly deserves -- whether she were to show up or not. Making the offer is a win-win, if she comes you win and the result is completely worth the extra 500k, if she doesn't then you've at least tried to put her on the map in your own market. · 718 days ago ·

dubby30 · Nice writing Brian, its wonderful to see all horses get their just due. I would like to see a career piece on Goldi now. Might have to write it myself but the point is there are those out there that feel that winning at less than 10f on dirt is not being classy or deserving of praise. Unfortunately american racing is very confusing, to be considered great you have to win at 10f or some dont consider the horse a top horse, yet in still we have less than ten 10f races with which to contest 10f on dirt at least. It makes no matter the distance, greatness is defined by taking on and beating the best at the specific discipline, BC does that like not many horses we've ever seen.
