  • LaurieRoss · Hard Spun has a 10F winner on dirt (Questing) & Charismatic is in Japan. He has only 1 SW as a broodmare sire, and that one is a winner at 9F. 2nd damsire of Wicked Strong is With Approval, MGSW at 10 - 12F. Candy Ride has no 10F SW over dirt. Storm Cat is the damsire of 3 SW at 10F over dirt. 2nd damsire Grenfall failed to win 2x at 10F, as did his daughters' best offspring (Twilight Agenda). There's more stamina on Wicked Strong's bottom line than Shared Belief's. I agree that Hard Spun isn't a true 10F horse, but under the right cirmstances, he can sire a 10F horse. · 101 days ago ·

  • Davidm9999 · The Futurity is a fun race to bet as it can be so wide open. It has zero relevance to me for BC races. I think Havana is the better animal. I would say the top three from the Champagne are lengths better than anything in the Futuriy. If Vegas offered a head to head matchup on Artie and Havana then Havana woulld go 1-5. · 190 days ago ·

  • EP Taylor · I would rather run my horse in the Remsen then the Juvenile. The BC money is tough to ignore that is for sure, but I like the Champagne + Remsen route for 2 year olds. Good luck to the Juvenile field looks pretty competitive. · 183 days ago ·

  • tmallios1 · My thing with the race is,it does not matter to me where a horse is situated during the race.As long as they are doing it on their own. Every other race i saw her,she breaks and settles. Then she unleashes that powerful run that we have become so accustomed to seeing. In this race,Rajiv had her on a strong hand ride almost 20 yards after the gates opened.Look at the replay,Look at Johhnny right behind him.Judy was in a hammerlock, that is the type of race i expected. If she did not win,at least she would of finished up nice and strong. This would of set her up perfect for the upcoming Sprint. I do not think, that she got out of therace what she should have. I think to much emphasis was put in trying to win the race that day.In Rajivs defense. If he felt that she was not her normal self, and that he had to urge her to run. Then it becomes a new Ballgame for me at least. Then i am going into the race looking to beat her.Since she will most likely be odds on. · 190 days ago ·

  • Floridaf · I saw what you meant about Rajiv hustling her from the start. My only guess there aside from what you mentioned is that maybe he didn't want to be as far back in the early stages as they were in the Masters. I do tend to look at race placement. It's not a huge factor, but I have found that it does play a part in how a horse performs from time to time. · 190 days ago ·

  • pedigree_power · and that's why we call it handicapping! Your post about population vs single entity, there's the whole problem with the Nicking tools. Nicks are only worth noting if the sire has runners from the mares of the broodmare sire. OR, if he is a new sire, his 1st tail sire from the broodmare sire. True Nicks uses "X" sire and his sons and grandsons and "Y" broodmare sire and his sons/grandsons" how vague can you get?? Yet they charge big bucks for this "pedigree tool."
