The fact that his rating went from 9.30ish to 9.20 seems to prove (at least to me) how many people only liked him until he lost. He's a great horse in his own right, not even the greats can win them all. Sorry.. Just had to point that out. I just noticed his rating plummeted after the Travers.

Nice nice horse, raced to death.
Why in the world is FA still racing when she's in foal? Is that advisable? I was shocked to learn this.
In foal to Tapit
After finally watching this race I've gotta say I don't hold this loss against HC. I know I've been a critic and don't believe he can get 10 against the kind of field running in the BCC but every horse is entitled to a bad day. There is no doubt HC should have won this race at 8 which is why me and others critiqued Lanes End for racing him in the Kelso instead of the 10 f JCGC later. However the best horse doesn't always win in this sport and things go wrong. The Sloppy track didn't favor his usual closing surge especially given the shorter distance. This race was also pretty fast for being on a sloppy track. That being said I still don't think HC is in the same class as AP, Frosted, Beholder and Tonalist at 10 f and above but at 8 f the only horse that can beat him is LM.
If you look at Honor Code's record this performance is typical for him. If history repeats itself as his record shows he is due for a win next time out. I wouldn't count him out whatever Breeders cup race he runs.
BREAKING NEWS: Trainer Julio Canani has been suspended by the Santa Anita Park Board of Stewards—effective Oct. 26 through Nov. 30, 2016—for "conduct detrimental to racing" that stems from a 2012 court case where he was found to have committed fraud. In 2012, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California decided Canani had defrauded Jeffrey Nielsen's Everest Stables and breached his fiduciary trust by misrepresenting details of the condition of six horses so he, or his Tarma Corp., could purchase them for prices lower than they were worth. The stewards' ruling cited violations based on "a civil court judgment for fraud, breach of fiduciary duty and agency, conspiracy, and unjust enrichment." California Horse Racing Board documents also detailed the reason for delaying a ruling on Canani, so the trainer could exhaust all appeals through the court system. During the suspension the 76-year-old trainer will not be allowed in any racetrack under CHRB jurisdiction. Once the suspension is over, Canani must "participate in a fitness for license hearing" before being relicensed by the CHRB. Article on Bloodhorse
Hey J O.K. is entered for the 9th. Belmont race 8.
Per equibase Mr. Speaker is nominated for the Gr. 3 Knickerbocker @ Belmont on 10/10th.
So, I have a question. I know his stud rights have been sold to darley, but I've heard that a half intrest in him while he's racing has been sold to godolphin. Can anyone confirm this?
Ocean Knight has been entered in a one mile allowance race at Saratoga this Friday, race 8, Irad Ortiz Jr. will ride.
She will win the Breeders Cup race she is entered. Either dirt or turf.
If he's undefeated then why isn't he and another undefeated Canandian runner, Conquest Strate Up (who also has four undefeated races)? Is it just biased-ness against Canadian racers or?
When will they learn....Can't wait til next years rendition of the Kelso. In 2014 Pliesa bypassed the JCGC with a horse who would of been the chalk , yet opted for the Kelso. By the way,he went off 3/5 and ran a horrible 3rd. In 2015 Shug followed suit,he did one up better. H.C. went off at 2/5 and finished an awful 3rd. Like i said, can't wait til next year for the next genius trainer. Don't know if it is bad Karma,or trainers knowing that their horses are not in peak form. But if they did and thought they were opting for an easier spot... Boo to the trainers for running their horses. To the HRN fans that tried to convince me that Shug was looking for the easier road to the BC Cup. How is he looking now. I said it prior to the race, and i will say it til i see him in the Starting gate on BC Day. This just solidifies my opinion. How will they run this horse, off of a non competetive race. To boot he would be facing the best in the World outside of New York.
Ran her heart out in the JSpinster today and still managed to hang on for a Show and a spot in the BC.
So watching the Spinster on NBC just now, Espinoza was interviewed and asked if there was anything he would have done differently in the Travers. He said he 'should probably have let Pharoah run a .23 and .47 half, he could run .22 if he wanted to'. So much for the 'not himself in the warm up' and 'tired horse' excuse.
ZATT's Star of the Week, is ... Golden Horn!
She got it!!!! Got Lucky wins the Spinster!!!! Another G1 winner for the great A.P Indy!! What a race.
With out winning yesterday, this was an awesome prep for Exaggerator. He got the two turn experience, split horses again, all the while not being 100%. Should set him up perfectly for the BCJ where Desormeaux will have him ready to fire.
Want to see another race between Exaggerator and Brody's Cause. To be honest I still think Exaggerator might turn out to be the better horse.
