By The Numbers -- Got a reply back from Byron Rogers regarding the discussion below. I only mentioned the Del Mar Futurity since as I said, there is no Trakus at Monmouth and Pimlico. Here is his reply - "Thanks. I've seen the Trakus data on that race but it doesn't jive with the timing of his splits in the race via video timing. I think the timing devices were wrong on that day. That said, I maintain that American Pharaoh was a pace sensitive rhythm galloper, rather than a horse with a true turn of foot. I think Arrogate would be too fast for him as he'd be able to sit off his speed and drop a 22 quarter in when needed."
Hope there are more horses entered than 7. Need at least 10 entries for a decent race.

As I said in the other thread, I bet this is his last race, so enjoy it. Why risk him after that for mere $1 million purses when Juddmonte can get $8-$10 million/year in stud fees for 12 or so years?
He has such an awesome pedigree; I've always been a fan of Serena's Song's grandchildren (not sure what the term is for that in horse racing...)
It's hard to believe that she's the last foul out of Serena's Song. Her bloodline is royalty and we haven't heard about her for awhile, so I hope her owners aren't talking about retiring her so soon. Any news on this beautiful filly?
Another horse to consider, hasn't done anything wrong, doesn't need the lead to win and has good times.
Clocker Andy Harrington says "He's come back from Florida stronger".
Someone should write a poem about Arrogate. This is my terrible haiku: When he runs he wins The others are left behind. He breaks the records
First bred mare has scanned and is in foal.
Unbridled on top, Tapit on the bottom, can't dismiss.
Midnight Storm worked 6f, February 27th, in 1:13.80 (h) finishing 7/14.
For anyone else like myself who simply can't get enough of watching this horse move, here's Sunday's gallop :) ...unusual for xbtv! http://www.xbtv.com/video/workout/arrogate-galloped-at-santa-anita-park-on-february-25th-2017/
Does this old boy look familiar?... https://www.thoroughbredracing.com/media/filer_public_thumbnails/filer_public/75/40/7540dc71-3d47-4099-a191-0eacfa01d3be/fastmarket1pm.jpg__760x480_q85_crop_subsampling-2_upscale.jpg He should!...He's Big Red's 31 year old son who retired with 144 starts and is still thriving in his retirement at Bright Futures Farm!! https://www.thoroughbredracing.com/articles/children-secretariat-son-who-raced-144-times-and-still-thriving-31/
  • Goblin · Thanks, slew! Celebration of longevity and of a happy horse! Reminded me of Secretariat's first two sons from test breedings, First Secretary and Statesman, both of whom became sires of excellent offspring outside the world of racing. I knew of Statesman from a "print" story in BH years ago and found it online. He had Secretariat's looks and was trained for polo and dressage; was ridden as a lesson horse into his mid-late twenties. Story and photos in this link. http://www.crsporthorses.com/statesman.pdf · 5 days ago
  • airedale2008 · A fantastic story, slewcrew. I sent this to Penny's daughter. Kate was thrilled to learn that Secretariat has a living son. I imagine that Fast Market may be the oldest living offspring now. Glad to know that he ran 144 races and retired sound. Bev Dee is a saint. We need more like her. I sent the story to the president of our local TRF chapter as well. Thanks for your post. · 9 hours ago
Trivia: Secretarait stride was measured from a Preakness workout at 24'11". He also ate 15 quarts of oats a day and only lost 25 pounds during the triple crown.
Who else is expected to go? I assume Mubtahij and Hoppertunity, but what about Gun Runner and Shaman's Ghost? And while I don't think Songbird would go, a little out of the box thinking -- what would Stellar Wind have to lose?
Awesome news regarding arrogate!!
After the announcement bet365 dropped Arrogate's odds from 13/8 to 1/3. Mubtaahijj is second choice at 5/1 and Hoppertunity third at 6/1.
Incredibly excited now!!!! My 4/1 I got in December looks huge 👍
Is due to visit Le Havre this year. Hopefully we'll get to see more Aga Khan mares visit him in the future!
Arrogate worked in 138.40 this morning. Decision later this week on next start.
