What the Nation is saying about the Arlington Million...

Pasquale Vizzoni’s General Perfect, likely to be one of longer prices in the race, is slated to arrive at Arlington Park on Wednesday in advance of his start in Saturday’s Arlington Million XXIX, one day before his trainer Glenn Thompson.   The son of Perfect comes into the race off a fifth-pla...Read More

  • amdaman · I think Nellie's Cashman's DQ was the wrong call. She may have drifted out badly, but the outcome of the race was not impacted. Bad call. I do agree with The Apache's DQ. That was a dirty ride. Soumillon veered his ride in and almost caused a spill at the top of the stretch. He was lucky to be DQ'd only to second. · 239 days ago ·
  • Floridaf · I don't know if Rosie would have lodged an objection if Javier hadn't done so, and I believe we're just going to have to agree to disagree on whether or not it was the correct call. However, from a consistency standpoint, it was the same call made in the other 3 races for the same situation. Whether or not you agree with the call, you have to appreciate the consistency. · 239 days ago ·

Euro/Jonquil, i have basically looked at the 3 big races being run at Arlington Park on saturday. In the millions,i think Little Mike will prove a tough horse to beat.In his first race back from Dubai at Monmouth.H e was a bit rank and to eager and got away from Rosario.he has been training well and the experience joel will have gotten will put him over the top. From the Euro group.Guest of Honor does capture my eye. I always lookk for development from ages 2 to 3 and the 3 to 4.after that horses level off.The guest has shown tremendous developmentas a 4 yo.when that happens,no one knows where the ceiling is.At 15-1 ML,i am willing to find out.my barometer is the speed ratings i use.as a 3yo he ran in the high 119/118/117. now he is up to 125 /123. in the beverly D. i will go with gifted girl.same reasons as above .as a 3yo she ran 115 in that area.she now developed to 124.finally in the Secreteriat.I think Jack Milton will be very tough to beat. The euro that has caught my eye is Yeager. Can you please tell me if the sudden rider switch to Ryan Moore is a positive or negative switch. The horse in this race who i absolute hate, and as they say.if he wins i lose. That horse is Ridylluc. Not because i do not think he is not good enough to win or classy enough. But because his connections never planned on running in this race. They had himscheduled to run at Saratoga last friday in The Hall of Fame race. That race was taken off the turf.So this is plan B. If someone owns a top grade 3 yo,and in their original plans, they are telling me that they would settle for a G3 instead of a G1.their lack of confidence speaks volumes. i am very interested to know your selections on the races mentioned.mind you,i can always be swayed with logical thought process. enjoy

  • Euro Trash · as far as winnings, I rarely bet American races. So no winnings but no losings either. Bonsoir. · 241 days ago ·
  • tmallios1 · Euro, yes i did use Dank.went predominantly with the foreigners. Regardless of the take down, you my friend nailed the commentary.to paraphrase your words.Apache was ready to explode.I unfortunately was thick headed and did not listen.after the result i am now glad i did not.i would of been sick now.but bottom line, congratulations again.wewill be chatting up in the near future, and so look forward to your BC analysis. · 241 days ago ·
It's hard to believe there have already been 30 editions of Chicago's premier race, the Arlington Million. • Euro Trash · At the moment, I am leaning more toward The Apache. I am not sure Mull of Killough last jockey said that he might want more cut in the ground than he will get. I still like him better than Guest of Honour, but Guest of Honour is the most progressive of the group. But, I think The Apache is sitting on a huge run. · 243 days ago ·

  • shadowno · IHB hit the Game on Dude issue spot on. He is getting a bit long in the tooth and more to the point is a gelding so winning the Whitney or any other eastern race is of little long term signiigance. Much wiser to run a Big Cap, Californian, HGC, Pacific Classic campaign leading into the BCC than amass frequent flyer miles. Add to the fact while obviously a top 10 handicap horse, he is not a "name" that will bring people out to any major track. It is a no-brainer to keep doing exactly what his connections have been doing. · 418 days ago ·
  • On The Gallop's · Shadowno- I guess you missed the part where I said 3-4 top races are in england and one in France. The Champions stakes is an Extremely important race and skipping the ARC for the Champions stakes is not a step down quality wise. · 407 days ago ·
Yesterday, in the Colonel E.R. Bradley Handicap at Fair Grounds, the Optimizer Bunny notched his second stakes win on turf with an emphatic 3 ½ length score over String King. I know it was 1 1/4, but he's not in the top 10 after that performance against straight 3 year old. Me and my family are on a long road trip right now. Moving from Cali to Maryland. And we've been stopping every night. And pure luck happened and we happened to be at Chicago on the 18th. We decided 2 nights in chicago. Anyway, I got to see Arlington Million Day! What luck! It was fun. The million was an awesome experiance. Arlington Park is beautiful, the only problem is the trees in the backstretch, it blocks your view for almost a quarter of a mile.
