What the Nation is saying about the Arkansas Derby...

Oaklawn Park opened its gates to a festive crowd of more than 18,000 fans last Friday at the National Park location in Hot Springs, Arkansas. And the first race was quite a statement race for apprentice rider Alex Canchari, who registered his first career victory aboard Run Mama Beare Run. By the en...Read More

  • Floridaf · I would not be surprised if they did since Now I Know is being pointed toward the major races for fillies at Oaklawn. I don't think they could avoid each other unless one of them shipped to a different track. As much as I admire On Fire Baby, I think Now I Know would come out on top. · 15 hours ago ·

Quietly, one of the best performances on an excellent Saturday of racing took place in Oaklawn Park’s Essex Handicap. On paper the race looked like it would be Pin Oak Stable’s Alternation to lose. Although 2011 became largely a season of unfulfilled potential for the attractive son of Distorted Hum...Read More
  • Winplacsho · It's nice to see Alternation back, it seemed like he fell off the map after that subpar effort in the Jim Dandy. I agree that this horse is similar to Blame in a couple of ways: running style, under the radar by being midwest based & no triple crown starts as a 3 year old. · 3 days ago ·
