  • Age of Reason · Yours truly has been saying for months that 8 furlongs is too short for this horse. He runs like a 10-furlong horse, and I'll never understand why they haven't stretched him out yet, nor if they ever will. Shirreffs' patience is alternately revered and ridiculed (depending upon the results of the moment), but he is being too conservative with this one, IMO. The Pacific Classic could be his for the taking if they thought outside the box... · 694 days ago ·

Global Hunter edged pacesetter Temple City to win the $150,000 American Handicap on Sunday at Hollywood Park. The stewards reported the Argentine bred ...Read More
  • medlocke · It's a real shame that Global Hunter took a misstep galloping out after winning the American Handicap and broke his ankle. He gave a very solid effort to get up and win this race. IMO. It appears on the replay that he just took a bad step right when he was starting his gallop out after the wire. Similar to what happened to the filly Eight Belles. Just not on such a drastic level, thank goodness. I think it's probably pretty likely that Global Hunter's racing days are now behind him. JMO. · 1384 days ago ·
